SOURCE: handle on rear hatch door broke off.how can i open hatch door until i can get a new handle?

you don't. take it into a Hyndai Dealership and have the handle repaired/replaced. The rear hatch panel/cover has to be removed (from inside the vehicle) to access the hatch latch and open the door.. from that point the handle can be replaced/repaired.

SOURCE: REAR HATCH DOOR LATCH WAS

Welcome to FIxYa.com

Lift gate actuator is not working properly. as you release to open have someone pull on the bottom lip and see if this will open hatch. you will need to inspect for me the striker plate( part that the hatch latches to. To see if it is bent or not level. Let me know so we can continue on.

SOURCE: Back hatch door won't open with key or latch

then the linkage going to the latch is broken. You will have to get the trim off the inside the hatch and actuate the linkage by hand to make it open. the little plastic clips break off all the time.

How do you open the back door (no manual)

Rear hatch is locked or unlocked with a key. (if equipped) • To open the rear hatch, insert the key into the lock, turn it to the unlock position and pull up the rear hatch by pressing the handle (DOOR). You can also lock/unlock the latch (but not release it) with the central door lock system. • If unlocked, the rear hatch can be opened by pressing the handle (DOOR) and pulling the hatch up. • To close the rear hatch, lower and push down the rear hatch firmly. Make sure that the rear hatch is securely latched.

How do I open the rear door if the latch handle/lever does not work?

Try to get it open by pulling the hatch lanel off from inside the vehicle and pulling on latch rod. Usually hatches dont open with handle due to diconnected rods or broken release cables. Also, you can use your key fob to open hatch( if equipped)

How do I get my rear hatch door open, when you can't open it from the outside?

You can get it open in two ways: By using your key fob and remotely opening latch or by pulling inside panel on rear hatch and manually pulling lever to get latch to release. Most times when you cant get rear hatch to open normally is because cable from outside release handle to latch broke. Have cable and release mechanism inspected and replace worn or broken parts as needed.

Why does the rear hatch not unlock?

Sometimes the latch can fill up with debris and not have the slack in it so that it will work. Try the key instead of the power lock to manually release it. With much of the trim being plastic, it is not easy to find a good place to apply pressure. If you can press down on the hatch while turning the key, you may compress the rubber hatch seal and create slack to allow the latch to release.

If that does not work, the actuator rod may be disconnected. It can be difficult to remove the cover panel with the hatch shut. You would be better to go to a Dealer for an expert to open it.

Just got a 1994 Nissan Pathfinder in relatively good shape. How do I open the rear hatch/tailgate?

Insert your key into the lock and turn the key left to open the hatch, or right to open the window. There is also a small lever by the door latch that locks the hatch when you close it so you don't have to use the key.

Liftgate wont open, have to use the key, but if I press the key to close the rear lift gate it will close it.

can you hear the latch release when you try to open? if no clicking noise is heard then most likely a bad latch assembly. also check the rear door control module to see if smells burnt, if it does it won't send open signal. the module is located behind the plastic shroud on the left of the rear hatch.

Power hatch release quit working

Most likely the latch itself went bad. You can disconect it at the connector and have someone work the latch, while you check it with a 12 volt tester to see if the power is coming back to the latch. If it is, the latch will need to be replaced.

I have a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee. A power cord from something I was hauling got stuck under the rear hatch and now it won't open. The handle moves freely, but the door won't open and the key won't turn.

I'll tell you from experience this is no fun to fix unless you are two feet tall. You've got to get into the rear cargo area and remove the inner panel of the hatch. It "may" be necessary to break a little of the plastic off depending on it's elasticity. Once the panel is off take a flashight and locate the latch release linkage. With one hand(usually the left hand) pull the linkage forcefully to the left as you face the hatch from inside. This should release the hatch then you'll be able to escape...lol. Good luck, Dana P.S. It goes without saying you should bring a flashlight with you.

My rear hatch will not open no matter what I do, remote, dash button or key, neither works. I checked te fuses and they are all good. What could be the problem? It worked and then I locked the doors with...

I just repaired a 2002 Aztek with a non working hatch. It was bad solonoid motors that were not releasing the latches.it is a fairly hard job to access the latches to release the hatch so you can get to the solonoids. You have toy crawl into the back of the vehicle and remove the bolts that hold the latch hooks. Once you have done this the glass top of the hatch will open. you can then use a screwdriver to reach down through the internal part of the latch and release it so you can access the bolts to disasemble the hatch to get to the solonoid motors. This is not a job a novice mechanic should atempt. It should be done by an experienced mechanic with the proper tools.

Shifting problems My car is a 2006 Hyundai Tiburon, Automatic, 2.0L 4 Cylinder I've had the car two years I don't know what's related and what isn't so here is the story. Bought car, (cruise control did not work) but everything else seemed fine, engine light came on code read Vehicle Speed Sensor so I bought an input and an out transmission speed sensor and had them installed, Motor blew 2 heads had motor replaced with an almost new motor. Cruise control now works, three days later car would not come out of park shifter moved but car stayed in park felt like shifting cable let loose, I called a backyard mechanic friend and he moved the shifter hard and it went into drive said probably buddy who changed motor forgot to unhook cable and stretched it (made sense to me) it did this everytime car was put into park had to yank on the shifter to get it to shift so I started parking her in neutral and it never messed up, after 3 weeks my new shift cable came in so I went to show my mechanic what car was doing it wouldn't do it worked fine, told him I'd call him next time it messed up this is a year and a half later hasn't messed up like that again! I had already bought the cable so I decided to have it installed anyways even though problem seemed fixed went to a shop they told me nothing is wrong with my cable..... Approx 6 months ago put car into drive and started driving the car reved out (I call it) motor got really loud and RPM gage went to 4K and car jerked really bad and made a really loud snap noise so I pulled over and roughley shift car into park and back into drive and drove this fixed the issue for that drive anyways.... my car one day over heated to red line in a 5 minute drive in the winter my mechanic said must be an air lock so he drained my fluid and replaced ect, next day car wouldn't start, blew starter, replaced that, next day driving car and in a 5 minute drive it overheated to red line took car to shop he said gage is reading wrong car is barely even warm so I decided to take the car home and worry about this issue pay day well the next day car wouldn't start, blew alternator, at this time my mechanic looked over car more closley turns out I had a bad ground so he put on new alternator and new ground, this was a month ago and no more issues with overheating or not starting. However I still have this issue (copy and paste) "put car into drive and started driving the car reved out (I call it) motor got really loud and RPM gage went to 4K and car jerked really bad and made a really loud snap noise so I pulled over and roughley shift car into park and back into drive and drove this fixed the issue for that drive anyways...." After having ground put on and shifting issue still there I took my car directly to Hyundai they ran all their computer tests and transmission tests and took car for a test drive car worked fine and only code that came up was Vehicle Speed Sensor. So here is where I stand first question how many speed sensors does my car have is a transmission input/output speed sensor different then a vehicle speed sensor? I looked on parts sites and only speed sensors I find are ABS speed sensor and Vehicle Speed Transmisson Sensor, so maybe sensors I bought are no good but they were bought new or maybe the connector for the sensors are bad? I don't know any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
