Question about 2000 Lincoln LS
If you have a Autoclub membership or a good car insurance policy a Locksmith service is one way to get into the car. You can also try calling the Dealer with your Vin# (It is on the Dashplate by the Windshield or with Car Insurance form). You can have the Dealer make a Standard key for the trunk and then jump the Battery.
You do not have to get a computer chip key for the trunk. Sometimes a Slim-Jim can get the door open, but you would need a Trunk opener that does not depend on power. So you are just as well off getting a trunk key. Then jump the Battery and use the Keypad to open the doors.

Thank you for contacting fixya.com.
The key lock/unlock for doors are powered by the batteries in the remote, while the ignition key draws its energy from the vehicle via induction. Since the battery is dead you are having this problem. You need to call assistance from the nearby auto shop or a locksmith. I guess you don't have any other option.
