This is a personal recommendation for ALL cars, belts at 60k miles/6 years waterpumps when they fail...remember the makers dont pay the bill when the belt breaks,as far as chains go,when they rattle is a good time to change them.i know some "mechanics" would argue, but i can live with a car thats done 320k and NEVER been in bits (yet)me and my big mouth.....oilchange every10k. 10/40 semi synthetic.

What mileage do you replace serpentine or time chain belts.

Your replace the serpentine belt when it is worn, cracked, or appears to need replacing. It should easily last 100,000 miles. The 2002 Taurus has a timing chain and not a belt which will last the life of the engine.

Timing chain replacement

The timing chain on the Trailblazer 4.2 L is a metal chain. Unlike plastic timing belts that require replacement at certain mileage, this metal chain should be good for the life of the engine.

1995 GMC safari V6 When does the timing belt need replacing

sorry i didnt see the TIMING belt in the title -
GMC recommends replacing Timing belt at 71,000 miles....
however your particular vehicle may have a timing CHAIN.

The 4.3L engine is the only engine covered by this guide which uses a timing chain and gear (sprocket) assembly to turn the camshaft. The 2.5L engine uses a direct gear drive (without a chain).

Only replace the chain if after inspecting it - it is worn or damaged!
You don't adjust timing chain-you replace it or the tensioner

When to replace the timing belt on a 2002 audi a4 1.8T

Audi 4 cylinder engines must have timing belt replaced as soon as 75,00 miles but no later than 105,000 miles. When doing job properly the mechanics should be replacing belt, tensioners, rollers, waterpump, thermostat and gasket. Average price would be around $900-$1200 US dollars.

Puking oil

If your car has a timing chain then you don't have a 92 Accord. That being said replacing your seals is pretty straight foreward. Get your self a waterpump while your at it. Its usually only 20 or 30 dollars, but if it fails the timing belt will break and it will kill your engine. Also make sure that the timing marks are lined up exactly right, one tooth off will cost you 20% or more on your gas mileage.
