Replaced rear drum brakes on 98 chevy cheyenne k1500 and brakes worked fine but e brake seemed way too tight, i didnt want to even try but my father in-law said aww its suppose to be that way so he pressed it to the floor with a lot of effort. the brake light is now off but brakes on drivers side rear are stuck and wont free up. did we install something backwards... any suggestions or picture of how its suppose to look? the pass/rear is fine , does one go one way and one another way?

Check the cable, if its corroded, rusted, the spring in the drum isnt strong enough to pull the cable back, to release the brake. You may need a new cable for the drivers side.

if you have abs the electic noise you hear is most likely coming from the abs modulator. as for the rear brakes intermittently locking up, the most common problem is overadjusted rear brake shoes, under adjusted rear brake shoes, or excessive brake dust inside the drums.
