Question about 2000 Ford Windstar
Hi the speed sensor will be located above the drive shaft on the driver side on a right hand drive , it goes into the differential on the gearbox .

Is your speedo jumping around or not working. If it is a 2000 windstar there is no speed sensor in the transmission. the sensor that is in the transmission is for the computer now out put speed for shifting the transmission. for speedo problems look at the driveshafts see the abs rings are broken if so replace shaft this is were the speed is checked and sent to your dash. Note - if you remove the broken ring and not replace the shaft your speedo will be out by half doing 50 Km = 100 Km

it should be located under the car on the tansmission gearbox but it is covered by a Sheild and will be hard to see.

polarcycle is right but there is a speed sensor on the drivers side top of the trans. toward the tail shaft or transfer case. there is as well a sensor inside the trans. itself that is mounted on the web. behind the overdrive band and drum.
