This car has been sitting for six years, everything seams to be working but it will not start, the spark is steady but red, could it be fuel problems and how to check! there was half a tank of gas in it, I added 4 gals. of fresh high test to it.

Try a fresh set of plugs and spray some carb cleaner into the intake when you attempt to start it. Fuel has a useful shelf life of about one month. After that it goes downhill really fast.
Make sure the battery is fully charged before attempting to start it again. your spark should have a bit more snap to it.
High test fuel won't help but a few ounces of acetone may.

To make sure there is enough spark and the electronic side of things is still functional, buy a can of 'starting fluid' (ether) to see if it will try to start. Any auto parts store has this and it is under $3 US; cheap if it helps. The fresh gas you added is in the tank, stale gas in the lines so it isn't seeing any new juice yet.
Try to get the ether into the intake after the air filter (or just remove it temporarily) otherwise it may not help.
If it won't fire with the ether, it sure won't fire with stale gas.

Car will start run for 5 to 10 min. then cut off

I had that happen on a ford pick-up truck , It was the ignition module ! What's it like when it stops , does it seam like it's running out of fuel or does it just stop all of a sudden ? When it stops don't let it sit , try spraying carburetor cleaner in the throttle plate to see if it will start, if it starts you know you have a fuel delivery problem . If that doesn't work pull a coil an see if you have spark , watch yourself you don't want to get sapped by the spark ! You need to find out what's cutting out , spark or fuel ! Then you can test the system in question !

Have 1995, check engine light came . It starts fine, but after 10 minutes it dies out , after a cool down period it starts up ?

REMOVE AND REPLACE ALL FUEL IN THE TANK, depressurize the fuel lines, and re-pressurize before restarting.
When sitting unused, fuel is only good for six months to one year, then begins to separate or accumulate moisture.

I have a 1987 Ford F-150 4.9L Straight Six... it has been sitting on a field for about 3 years. When we went to get it it started moved about 10ft and died. We have put new spark plugs, new spark plug

could be the other fuel pump. they have a low and a high pressure pump. still could be the one in the tank even though its running doesnt mean its pumping. also have the ignition module checked

My 2001 Lincoln Continental has been sitting for over two years, It did start for about a minute but it wont start again. what can I do

BATTERY DEAD MORE LIKELY.CAR BEEN SITTING FOR 2 YEARS GAS IN FUEL TANK WEAK FULL OF WATER, YOU NEED TO REMOVE DRAIN OUT OLD FUEL IN THE FUEL TANK. YOU NEED ADD NEW FUEL IN FUEL TANK,CHANGE FUEL FILTER, IF CAR BEEN SITTING FOR TWO YEARS.I WOULD REMOVE SPARK PLUGS ONE AT A TIME REMOVE EACH SPARK PLUG SQUIRT FEW DROPS OF OIL INTO CYLINDER THEN REINSTALL SPARK PLUG, REASON I SAY TO DO THIS PROCEDURE IT HELP PISTON RINGS SEAL UP ENOUGH TO BUILD UP COMPRESSION SO YOU CAN START THE ENGINE WHERE IT BEEN SITTING TOO LONG.YOU NEED CHANGE ANTIFREEZE AND THERMOSTAT.REPLACE RADIATOR HOSES TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE,REPLACE AIR FILTER.

My ss wont start. It has been sitting for six

you need to determine if you have spark at plugs or how much fuel pressure your pump is putting out.you will need at least 55 psi of fuel to fire.

1984 Rabit loses power while going up an incline

you need to check the accumulator and make sure you are getting the correct fuel line psi. Also if it sat a long time with old gas in it it could just be old gas accumulation and deposits. get a good fuel line and injector cleaner one that dosn't say STP and cost's more than $15. One that has to be done threw the fuel line or injector ram. You can try using seafoam, its seams to work pretty good in this type of situation just look it up on UTube.

good luck

Rx7 Mazda 1989 non turbo

I tried a Solution used from a previous posting... The automatic transmission fluid, (ATF), trick.
After doing everything in the mainianace manual, without a positive outcome... I tried it..
3 capfulls in each trailing spark plug hole... but it must be after or just after the apex went past the hole...
remember turn the shaft manually until the apex passes.  Also remember their are six apex seals, 3 on the front rotor and 3 on the back, thats 18 cap fulls total.  Don't worry if some drips or pours out after putting it in the spark plug hole.  I did it with a med seringin.  but be careful the end could break off in the plug hole.(don't ask) Just make sure you do all six just after each apex.  Then take both leading plugs off and spray them with starter fluid and put them back just after you spray them.  This, I was told, was to make sure the car fires on the first start.  IT works.....
This is also a trick after having starting problems when the car floods.......
That why I waited so long to try it,  I did need it for flooding.....
This swells up the seal... they got dried out from sitting at least four years... ATF soaks into them and
helps the compression...

Replace leaking fuel tank

Remove the filler tube. Remove the rubber fuel line and plug. Remove the attaching bolts for the tank. Place a jack under the tank with a block of wood and slowly lower the tank down. Don't forget to unplug the wiring harness too. The possibility is high that the seam is leaking. A few aftermarket companies offer the tank. Do some shopping though, prices are different with the different companies.
