I have code but there is no area titled "enter radio code" anywhere in the manual. I just went and looked and now I have a "ERRE" message and still nothing works on the sound system. If you have no idea except to go to the dealer I hope you agree that that advise is now worth $6 or any amount. Thus if you cannot help I request that you do not charge my credit card.

I had my battery replaced in my 2006 Acura TL. Now I have an "ERRE" message on my sound system screen and nothing works on my sound system. I asked what I needed to do to to reset the system. The first expert basically told me to go to the dealer. I do not consider this any help. I have the radio code and he suggested that it needed to be entered, but I cannot find any instructions as to how to do that. Any help would be appreciated.

Its a security code for unlock the audio system; check in the l?ast pages from the owners manual (any similar card with the unlock code) or with the VIN number, visit your dealer. Remember that this is one unique number for each audio system, anybody can send this info for Internet, then this "security" word dont work for your or other owners.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Try to turn the radio ON, it will display code. Use those numbers and
enter it, when you enter the last digit the radio will come on to some
radio station (none specific) and the clock will flash. You will need to
reprogram all your presets and reset the clock.

Remember that radio codes are 5 digits and the Navigation codes are 4 digits. It should be on the first page of your maintenance journal.

I dont know if this work, but I quote...

Entering the correct code with the Antenna Unplugged Really Works!!!

In reference to the person who left these directions below thank you. I
had to give my VIN#, Registration, Phone Number, Zip Code, and ID to
Acura with my radio serial #. They gave me Two unlock codes. I tried and
tried and knew all codes and serial #'s were correct because I took the
entire radio out. All for nothing.

Hold "1" and "6" down together with one hand, and with the other hand
(while still holding "1" and "6" down), press the power button. Continue
to hold "1" and "6" (you can let off the power button, however) and you
should see digits on the radio screen.

It should be the letter "U" followed by four numerals, and then the
letter "L" followed by four numerals. Disregard the letters; the numbers
after "U" plus the numbers after "L" comprise your serial number,
    respectively.

Learning that the code must be entered with the antenna out was the
missing step. The dealer will never tell you. You don’t need to run the
car for hours and all that stuff.

After I locked the radio after so many attempts I did start over by disconnecting the battery.

    Thanks below. ***************

If you are sure of the code is correct, then it's pretty easy to reset
it. Now, if you are still within the warranty and/or the dealer agree to
do it for free, then bring it to the dealer; otherwise, do the
following: On your driver seat, Take out the side trim piece (the one with fake
wood material runs along the radio to the arm rest) by just peels it out
(to the left) then pull out.

Remove 4 screws that attached to the lower side plastic trim and remove the plastic trim out.

Get your hand behind the radio deck and remove the antenna cable (the
only cable right at the rear left corner of the radio deck)

Enter the radio code. It will work if you have correct code.

Re plug back the antenna cable

Re attach the lower plastic trim with 4 screws, and re attach the fake wood trim side piece.

Taking the radio all the way out was not fun and took a while to try and
find all the screws and pieces in the way of the radio coming out. I
was in so secure that there is no purpose in even needing a radio
    security code. Anyway. Have fun.

All this to say that the code must be entered in with the antenna unplugged. What a day!

    Someone else wrote:

Since it is an antenna issue, it's a very simple fix. Drive to a local
underground parking garage where you cannot receive ANY radio signals
and punch in the code. VOILA!!!! You HAVE to make sure that you are
underground and cannot receive any radio signals, this is key. It
absolutely works and you don't need to take apart the console.

I am in Baltimore, so if anyone out there has this problem in my area
and you need a place to go... just head to the Renaissance hotel in the
inner harbor. Go into the underground parking garage, take a ticket,
head to the bottom level, punch in code, and turn right around. The
radio now works and you don't have to pay ANY fee due to the small
amount of time you spent in parking garage. Hope this helps guys. I know
it sounds so simple, but I swear it works!!! Enjoy and great forum
    END

And do not worry, nobody will charge if you are not satisfied with the answers. For that has not only one but several "experts" here.

The only way to get the code is to get it from the dealer. Some dealers will put the code in the owners manual. If you look there they might have wrote it in. Look under how to enter radio code. Or under radio.

The reason why we can not give out the code is because it is a theft code and it is illegal to give out over the net. We need to make sure the owner gets the code not the wrong person.

Good Luck and please accept the answer

Acura tl navigation code

You'll have to remove the display and get the serial number off of it, call the dealer and get the code. Easier to register on Acuraowners.com and do it that way.

Battery lost charge recently after car sat unused for 10 days. Now, the sound system won't work. I don't get a "code" message on the display - no response at all when I press the audio key on the panel.

Have to re-enter the radio code

I would guess it came with the vehicle
new, & there is instructions in the owners manual

The only other thing is to ask a dealer for the code
& install procedure

We just replaced the battery in our 2005 Acura TL and now the radio will not work. All that comes up on the screen is CODE.

In these vehicles, there is an anti-theft system embedded. In order to retrieve the code, call your local dealer.

I just got a new battery for my 2006 Acura TL. I ...

If you have jumped or replaced the battery at anytime this will happen. You have to get the serial number off the radio by removing it or partially taking it out to see the numbers on it try not to remove any cords. With the stereo out (to make sure you get the right number off of it) call an Acura dealership with the number and they will give you the another number to enter into the stereo and directions on how to punch the numbers in. Make sure while you have the stereo out you write the serial number down and keep it in a safe place also the number that the Acura dealership gives you because if you sell the car or if it happens again its easily accessible. Good Luck!

CAR SHUTS OFF TCS IS DISPLAYED, EGR VALVE RECENTLY CHANGED, 420 CODE IDENTIFIED. ALSO A GREEN KEY IS DISPLAYED MOMENTARILY.

The 420 code means you need the catalytic converter replaced. The TCS means Traction Control System. The green key is the theft system. Both lights MAY have nothing to do with the car shutting off Sometimes those lights will display when something elese makes the car stall. Perhaps a faulty crank sensor or the cat is so clogged its stalling out the car.

Engine doesn't start every time

It should still be under warranty. Sounds like a possible bad ground somewhere or a security system malfunction. Likely it will act up when you need it not to, so I'd have it checked out.
