If your calipers are dirty and not floating properly, it can cause the pads to rub. This causes disc glazing and the squeaking that you are hearing. If you pressure wash the calipers the problem should clear up with normal driving.

if you are talking about brake shoes then remove drums and blow out dust , if you are talking about disc pads spray some brake cleaner on them.some disc pads have metal compound and will always squeek when hot , you can try replacing with aspestos type for quieter braking.

When i first start to drive my 2005 dodge neon the brakes squeek after about 2-3 times the brakes stop squeeking any ideas?

Probably just surface rust and or dust in drums if you have drums. Pretty common. Have had 2 Neons and both did the same. Especially after a damp night (dew) or rain, first few stops would squeek. Used to push pedal slightly when I first head out to clean them off and that seemed to help.

My 2001 Nissan Altima has a squeeking sound coming from the drivers side wheel. It only squeeks when the car is moving. And I don't think it squeeks when I use the brakes. What could be causing it to...

You will need to pull the wheel off and inspect the brakes. Spray some brake fluid cleaner on the rotor and disc area to clean the brake dust off. Next, have the wheel bearing checked and replaced, a bad wheel bearing would cause your wheel to squeak.

2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Brake make crunchy grinding sound when applied. In a previous car we had there was a warning tab that cause the brakes to grind is that featured on this car or is it just that my...

Most car post 1990 production, have a warning device, that will warn the driver, just prior to the front brake pads being completely worn out. The Mitsubishi Lancer is no exception. This warning device may not be included with non O.E.M brake pads. This may sound expensive, but the SAFE solution, would be to replace the front brake pads and brake rotors, with genuine Mitsubishi O.E.M. parts. Again, this may sound expensive, but can you put a price on safety?

Front brake pads wear down too quick

Get the brake calipers checked, the slides are probably seized/sticking causing drag.Check the rear hubcap for stones/debris/looseness.There is also a brake snow/debris guard which tends to rust.

Brakes squeeking

Try spraying the calipers and pads with brake clean usually the squek is from brake dust build up. The caliper slides are the only places where high temp. synthetic caliper grease is used try that as well.

My 2004 chevy tahoe makes a squeaking noise while driving and now there's brake dust forming on the rims.

If the squeeking is happening over bumps, and is not related to breaking, it could be a bearing in the steering linkage. My tahoe is doing the same thing, and my local garage says it is only a dealer fix. That is why I am searching this site now, is to find out if anyone else is complaining about this. I was told that GM is fully aware of this problem.
