How to replace a 1999 toyota camry 4 cylinder heater core

Instructions
    • Drain the Camry's engine coolant, using a clean container for reuse. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait a minute and a half for the airbag system to de-energize. Discharge and recover the air conditioner refrigerant.
    • 2Disconnect air conditioner suction hose and liquid pipe, then clamp on the tubes with an SST clamp. (Make sure you don't deform the tube). Disconnect the heater core hoses.

    • 3Disassemble every component of the dashboard, starting with the steering wheel and column. Removal includes the door scuff plates, cowl side trim, console panels and air bags. You'll need a second person's help to remove the dashboard from the interior.
    • 4Remove or disconnect all air ducts, the heater blower assembly, lower defroster nozzles, air conditioning radiator assembly. Remove the mode damper servo sub-assembly and Airmix damper servo sub-assembly, then remove the core from the air conditioner assembly.
    • 5Install the replacement heater core into air conditioner assembly. Reassemble all components of the heating/air conditioning unit, dashboard and dashboard components. Connect the heater core and A/C suction and pressure hoses, lubricating the O-rings with compressor oil.
    • 6Attach the negative battery cable, fill the cooling system and evacuate and recharge the air conditioner. Start up the engine and check for leaks in the system.

How to recharge air conditioner on a 2003 air conditioner

Have you refilled any other car or truck air cond systems before? Does your fill hose have a measurement gauge? Is the air compressor coming on while you are trying to refill? If you are unsure about the compressor coming on, you should have the system inspected...most shops will look at and estimate for free. Hope this helps.

Why did the can of R134 freeze when I charged the air conditioner on my 97 Chevy Cavalier? The low side line to my air conditioner (where i hooked up the can of r134) froze as well and my air conditioner...

History?was it working before? you cant just hook up a hose and put it in. First find out why compressor wont run, If it needs compressor, it needs a drier and orifice tube, put on a vaccuum pump for 1 hr then recharged with the correct amount of r134. You need someone who knows a/c to look at it.

Low side port for air conditioner

If you are recharging the air conditioner - start at the A/C pump, and follow the lines up until you find a black round stub (this unscrews) and this is where you will re-fill (recharge) the A/C.

NOTE: It is recommended to have a professional (certified) mechanic recharge A/C systems, but is not necessary. (laws and regulations vary per state, city, county).

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

The air conditioner is spewing coolant out the nozzle that is used to put coolant into unit. Why? A tried putting coolant into the air conditioner and it isn't getting any cooler.

The a/c dont used coolant, the radiator does, check your radiator cap could be weak, the a/c system used freon, if not cool through vents on dash have your a/c recharge

Air Conditioner recharge port on 1996 Geo Tracker

you are probably seeing the low side line on pass side halfway towards back (firewall) .The high side is hidden more but on the same side near the accumulator(metal cylinder the size of a large beer can with a small sight glass near the radiator up front. The high side is smaller metal piping while the low side is larger black rubber piping heading towards the interior evaporator where the cooling takes place

Air conditioner quit cooling,

I have a 2007 Kia Sorento EX. I had a similar problem. I checked for leakage in the nozzle. The nozzle was repaired and I refilled gas. This resolved the cooling problem.

The low pressure port is inside the right front wheel well on top of the dryer bottle, Turn your front wheels to the right and reach up behind the plastic guard just behind the front bumper
