Hi sounds like you may have got a bit of air in your brake system when pushing your brake pistons back, try bleeding the brakes at the front that should sort the fault.

I have a 91 s10 2wd 5spd with a 2.5 4cyl... i bought the truck with the brakes not working, it had a bad rear brakeline that was cracked right in front of the rear driver tire. and since this truck is...

the master cyclinder is divided into diagonal wheels. meaning that each line from the master cyclinder provides fluid to a front wheel and rear wheel. on the front resevoir of the master cyclinder it would be perhaps the left front and right rear brake for example. you need to block the lines going to the rear wheels independently and then bleed the brakes again starting with the wheel furthest from the master cyclinder.

When its running the peddal goes right to the floor

The master cylinder you have purchased is faulty. Take it back and exchange it. I'm assuming it was purchased at somewhere like AutoZone?! It is not uncommon to get bum hydraulic and electrical parts that have been remanufactured. They will exchange it for you. Then, once you start bleeding, make sure the rear brakes are adjusted properly and start at the right rear to bleed. So R/R, L/R, R/F, and last is the L/F. This should take care of your issue.

How to bleed brake lines for a 1990 oldsmobile cutlass ciera

Two people, one to pump the peddal and one to open and close the bleeder valve....

Person 1 pumps the peddal 5-6 times, then holds the peddal, while person 2 opens the valve till the peddal hits the floor, then person 2 closes the valve.

you start on the Passenger rear and do this till you get no air and only fluid, then repete process on Drivers rear, then Passenger front, the Drivers front...

Make sure valve is closed when pumping or realsing the peddal, as this will allow air into the system.

Check fluid level after each wheel to ensure you don't run empty during operation.

How do i bleed the brakes on my 1998 gmc jimmy

it takes two people to do, one to pump and hold the brake peddal and one to open the bleeders....

One person pumps the peddal 5-6 times and holds, while the other starts at the Passenger rear tirer and opens the bleeder valve till the brake peddal hits the floor, and close it, do this till no air comes out but only fluid, then go to Drivers Rear, then Passenger Front, then Drivers Front.....

DON'T open the vlave while they are pumping, or allow them to let up on the peddal till you have the vlave closed again, as that will put air back into the system.
