On a Mazda Tribute you must remove the plastic engine cover. Once that is removed you should see the spark plugs. They will be on the top of the engine with caps on them. you must undo the cap and remove it on each spark plug to have access to the spark plug.
This is a fairly easy job. Do each cylinder one by one (removal and install), make sure to reinstall the coil on the same exact cylinder (DO NOT MIX UP). 1. Remove coil retaining scre 2. Pull upward on the coil to remove. 3. Remove spark plug (using a spark plug socket). 4. Properly gap new spark plug (if applicable). 5. Apply sprark plug anti-seize compound on plug threads. 6. Install plug. 7. Aplly coil boot grease on the coils' rubber boot tips. 8. Reinstall coil.
check to make sure #5 spark plug wire isn't bad,make sure you have not wired it wrong from changing plugs. You should purchase a chilton manual if you haven't already
you have to dismantlement the top part of the engine to get the back 3 spark plugs. Remove the air intake. I own a Mazda Tribute and I just replaced mine.
