Usually a battery inside the fob has failed.....generally, not a rechargeable type.

Locked keys in 1999 lincoln town car executive and no keyless entry. can I gain entrance without an expensive locksmith?

Hello Jennifer Jackson...

No... even LINCOLN windows are harder to break
(sorry... your LINCOLN is pretty secure).

Worse... the best price I've paid to get a double sided
PATS (passive anti-theft system) key cut = $6.

Bring your own key... But this was all about the price of PREVENTING your current situation... (oops).

If your ONLY key is truly "inside"...
Your goose is pretty much cooked... The cost of
the LOCKSMITH is pretty trivial compared to your
alternatives... Dealers will zing you MUCH BETTER
than your "expensive locksmith"...

But what ever you do... (my recommendation)... Since
you prefer not to be prepared... (no door code or FOB)
Don't pass on the opportunity to have that same SMITHY
at least tell you about your door code POSSIBILITIES
or at least program a remote FOB for you ...

A RESPONSIBLE "expensive locksmith" will
explain the WISDOM of NEVER having less than 2 (TWO) transponder keys. (by reading your owners manual you can program the FOBs yourself (FREE).

How do you manage the "no" keyless entry...?
I remain pretty sure the number pad... & KEY FOB
(wireless transmitter) were standard equipment...

2 SPARE keys minimum... ALWAYS.

1999 Continental. Lost remote to car alarm system and it's draining battery. What can I do?

as to replacing fob if its a fob that came with car [original equipment]than ebay or an online company or even dealer for replacement the online/ebay are cheaper if its an aftermarket one look up company and order one ----as to the battery problem an alarm doesnt drain a battery that much unless battery is going bad and not holding a normal charge

My key will not unlock the drivers door only the remote can. Is there something within the key pad that prevents this?

Try spraying some PB Blastor into the key hole...sometimes a piece of dirt can keep the key from turning...Hope this helps. (Lock Anti-freeze)

1998 Continental; remote door lock intermittent using both fobs. Problem?

All of the locks don't function at times or just one door? If it is just one door the lock actuator is likely defective or the wiring harness to the door has a broken wire inside the wire insulator that runs through the rubber convoluted tube from the body to the door.

1999 Lincol Continental won't start. Very fast security light flash when it tries to turn over. Started doing this once every couple months. I would slam the hood and/or doors and it would start right up....

How about the security light on dashboard? It flashes every 2 sec. When u turn the key on it should stay on constanly for 3 sec then go off. If it flashes rapidly, like mine did, then it isnt reading the key. I took some electronic contact cleaner and sprayed it in the ignition whele slidin the key in an out. And it works now. I have to tilt the steerin wheel all the way down also. Not sure why. It took me a while to fig out what was going on with it. I even chngd the pump. It cuts the pwr off to the pump. but there is pwr at safety switch. If it stops wrkn again i will run a wire from it to pump. Better than new sec key and computer. Also when you start it for first time ea day. Turn key on till u hear pump run and stop. Then turn off and on again so it will build up more fuel pressure. Hope this helps. Take neg bat cable off b4 spraying the ignition
