Fuel pump qwit sometimes. after i bang the gastank with hammer, start .

Possible fuel pump problem. Try banging on the gas tank with a heavy object ( hammer ) while turning the key over. If it starts/tries to start, suspect a fuel pump failure

Sounds like a fuel delivery problem. Has the fuel filter ever been changed? You can try banging on the bottom of the fuel tank with a blunt object ( hammer works ) while some one cranks the engine. If it starts suspect a bad fuel pump

That's an indication you need to get a new fuel pump. A little banging on the gas tank may start it a couple of times, but eventually it will not respond.

fuel pumps can be nasty things but befor i payed out the cash for a new one i would check my ground wire on top of the gastank if its loose it can sputter, fail to work all together, had a chevy blazer that did that it would start when i banged on it cause it made the ground connect then after a lil bit it would stop, keep in mind this is real rare but happens with gm products check the crank shaft possition sensor as if it goes bad the fuel pump wont pump fuel the computer doesnt know to turn it on, those will come and go as well has a very simular appearance to a bad fuel pump, this sensor is located behind the pully on the front of the engine its the one at the bottom in center sadly got to remove that to get to it but shouldnt be to hard

The pumps themselves are bad about going out on chevorlet trucks. Look at your fuel rail and locate the valve that's on it. It should have a cap on it. It will look like a big valve stem cap. Watch your eyes carefully push down on it and see if fuel sprays out. You can also try a little trick that sometimes works. Have someone turn the truck over while you bang on the fuel tank with a hammer. Sometimes the pump will break loose and start working again. But it will only work temporarily.

when u turn your key can u hear the pump as well try getting a friend and have one of u turn the key to start it and the other bang on the gastank at the same time if it starts from banging on the tank the you fuel pump is blown to change this lift the car look to see if the pup is on the side if not the take the two bolts off the straps and slowly lower the tank to avoid breaking the fuel lines disconect the lines from the tank and take the tank out ont the top there should be a metal disk that u turn to remove the pump take it out put your new one in and repeat the steps in revers or make it easy and go to the garage to have it changes let me know if this helped

did you check the fuel pump relay, and is the pump ok!!

You can check for power at the connector for the fuel pump while cranking, if you got power but no fuel you have bad pump. Also have a friend crank on the car while you bang the bottom of the tank with a rubber hammer, sometimes it will jar the pump just enough to get it running again.

bang on the bottom of the fuel tank,in the middle with a hammer or rubber mallet and crank the engine at the same time. if it starts, replace the fuel pump.

sounds like failed fuel pump.
try taking a hammer and bang on the fuel tank while someone is cranking the engine over. sometimes the banging is enough to allow the fuel pump to start working. (doesn't always work)
