You need to refill and bleed the master cylinder first. Then refill the cylinder and proceed with bleeding the wheel cylinders.

Sounds like a leak in the brake line.
In the first place the front disc brakes do 70% of the work to stop the vehicle .
When you need to bleed your brakes you break into the system this lets fluid out air will get in every time so even a pin hole in the line or at a fitting will let air in slowly .The problem is air is compressible fluid is not so look for leaks at rear lines and fittings its vary common for rear lines to rust out and many inexpensive ways to repair them .
An other thing to know is when bleeding brakes is if you didn't open the front lines you don't need to bleed them but with the rears start with the farthest one away from the master cylinder passenger side rear 99% of the time and work back to the master .
I think your whole problem is a rusted out line 94 thats a lot of road salt good luck

Can't get the back brakes to bleed on a 1993 Cadillac Eldorado


they make a tool that keeps the brake proportioning valve open for bleeding them a safety feature to stop fluid in case a line breaks. but a reverse bleed can be done take a 2 ounce syringe fill with brake fluid and open bleeder screw and force fluid back to master cylinder and have someone watch to see air is coming out possibly 2 shootings per side should work.

Brake bleeding cylinder


Sounds like the master cylinder ran empty during the process.
Were you adding fluid as you were bleeding fluid out? If it ever runs empty, you bleed air into the system, and it takes a lot of bleeding to get it back out....You did add fluid as you were bleeding fluid out ...didn't you?

Rear brake line was leaking, so replaced it with new line, now cant get the brakes to bleed, thinking its the servo, does this need to be reset? tried pumping the brakes then pressing it to the floor, not...


Is the master cylinder full of fluid? When you replace a line like that it takes a fair amount of fluid to fill it and anything else you disconnected. Its very easy to pump the master cylinder "dry" or it can even leak dry while you are replacing the tube. You have to constantly monitor the master cylinder while bleeding a long line. When the fluid gets below the hole in the bottom of the reservoir it will not pump. The easiest way to do this is to have a helper. One person pumps and the other monitors the reservoir. You have to keep the fluid in the cylinder all the time you are bleeding or you will continue to get air in the tube. Fill the cylinder reservoir BEFORE IT IS EMPTY. You also have to use a check valve bleeder or someone has to open and close the break cylinder each time you pump the pedal. Otherwise you **** air back into the line when you let off the pedal. If the bleeder valve is always open you only push our air and **** it right back in. You can never gain on it. All this can be done by one person if you have a bleeding tool that has a check valve in it to keep the air from going back into the brake cylinder. You can find these tools at auto part suppliers. BE SURE YOU USE NEW UNUSED BRAKE FLUID OF THE PROPER TYPE. Fluid that has been exposed to air more than a very short time absorbs moisture from the air and makes it unusable. Make sure you pump enough fluid through the new line to be sure there are no air bubbles in it. When you are sure it is bleed completely, fill the master cylinder with NEW fluid to the fill line. It takes a while to get this done especially if you are working by yourself, but it can be done. Good luck.

Break pressure


Make sure you are trying to bleed the system in this order (Right rear, Left rear, Right front, Left front). If you are doing this and still not getting pressure, you should check the brake lines going to the rear for leaks. If you find a leak, replace that segment of line, bleed the system again and problem should be solved.

Problem with bleeding my breaks


You need a special tool that plugs into the ABS hydraulic control unit and holds the POP-IT valves open to bleed the air out, unless you have that tool you will keep spinning your wheels, most brake shops have a tool to do this or the dealer of course will have it.

Brake Fluid leaking from right rear wheel. 2006 CTS


the bleeder valve is the end of the line for break fluid.....you only open the valve when you're bleeding air from the break lines...after that it needs to be shut closed....fluid is leaking out of the bleeder valve because either the valve is not seated correctly or it got grinded down to a point where there is now an opening in it where it does not hold back the fluid....solution is to change the valve...they're only a couple dollars and you can do it your self....it just unscrews off and the new one screws back on...but be ready for a lot of fluid coming out when your replacing it and have new fluid on hand to replace what you lose.
And you'll have to bleed the system again

I have bleed rear breaks.I cant seem to get fluid to rear.The ABS light is on along with the break light.Is it possible that there is a faulty ABS sensor not allowing fluid to be distributed to the rear...


I'm confused, how did U bleed the rear brakes and there's no fluid to them? first of all U need to get fluid to the rear.

  1. Make sure there fluid in the brake reserve
  2. leave the cap off the reserve
  3. crack open the furthest bleeder valve till fluid come out (take it off if U have 2)
  4. if nothing still come out, then U have a clogged brake line
  5. blow back through the line from the brake side (slow till it bubbles back through the reserve
  6. then gravity bleed it, tighten up the the valve
  7. now U can bleed the brakes

Sounds like you have a blockage in the brake line going to the back breaks...maybe a kink in the brake line or maybe the junction piece (found attached to the bell housing in the back) that sends brake fluid to both breaks in the back is bad. Or your rear breaks need to be adjusted... I would say brake cylinders, but I doubt both would go out at the same time. Also check to make sure your master cylinder is working ok and there is no air in the line...try bleeding the back brakes to see if any fluid is getting to the brake cylinders in the back, this will tell you if you have a kink in the line or air...if it bubbles when you check (bleed the lines) then your problem is air in the line and should be bled until you get a solid flow of break fluid with no bubbles at all. If you want to know how to bleed the rear break just write me back and I will instruct you on how to do that.

Changed break line but still have no pressure in breaks


to do a complete job. you need to bleed all 4 wheels, starting from Right Rear. Right front. Left Rear. Left Front.
