Question about 1997 Oldsmobile Cutlass
It is something you can replace yourself. You will have to get the new one from the dealer or a scrap yard. It would be held on by a few push on clips and or small bolts/ screws. Start by unhooking it from the pedal and pushing it out the firewall. then follow it up to the throttle body, unhooking as you go.
If the dealer lists more than one cable for your car(ask) you will have to bring the old one with you when you order so they can get the correct one. The same goes for the scrap yard, take the old one to make sure what you bring home is the same as what you have.
When you re-install start at the firewall and hook the pedal up first. Route the new cable and be very sure it is not kinked by pushing and pulling the cable a few times beore you hook to the throttle body. Then fasten it down so there is no slack in the cable at the throttle body. Hope this helps.
