Usually when you experience this type of issue, the brake safety switch has failed. It is just a small switch that is under the brake pedal and releases the gear shift when the pedal is pressed. This is an inexpensive fix. You may have to order the part from a certified VOLVO parts dealer, and then install your self. Good luck and if you have any more questions please feel free to ask.

01 s60 t was driving fine. Got home, it sat for about an hour. Went out to start it and it idles rough and doesn't have any power won't go over 20 mph. sounds like it is trying to stall when...

Sounds like your fuel pump is giving up! Or maybe some bad fuel! Did you fill up before parking up or is the tank low? Maybe the pickup filter or line filter is blocked!

Auto trani - right ?
You add fluid through were the trani dip stick is.. Its called a filler tube..
Need a funal..

Do it while the engine is on & idling in park.. Its best isall is good & warm..

The dipstick mesures in pints - not quarts so be carefull not to over fill.. Do a little at a time..
Overfilling causes damage..

Hope this helps !!
Please rate me good ;o)

2001 volvo s60 2.4 turbo misfire

  • Faulty coil (pack)
  • Faulty camshaft position sensor
  • fuel filter and fuel
  • the p0300 car's computer has detected that one of the engine's cylinders is not firing p0301 In this case it's cylinder #1.p0302 In this case it's cylinder #2.and so on i would check the three listed above first then check
  • Faulty spark plugs or wires
  • Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
  • Faulty or plugged fuel injector
  • Burned exhaust valve
  • Faulty catalytic converter(s)
  • Stuck/blocked EGR valve
  • Defective computer Random misfires that jumps around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak that may be a broken hose or in the intake manifold (gasket, spary aruond it with wd40 or starer fluid if the engine idle goes high theres your problem) or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open. hope this helps

2004 Volvo S60 gets stuck in Park and will not engage into any gear.

Must be the same as my 2005 V70. Do the brake lights function? If not it's probably a microswitch and /or solenoid needs changing somewhere gearshift mechanism. Mine let me downn yesterday but everything points to this.
