Sorry....I changed the rear brake pads on a 2007 Pontiac G5 GT. When i finished and went to drive away i had no pressure on my brake pedal. Not sure what caused this but i bled all 4 lines and still nothing. I have never experienced this before when changing pads. I can't believe the master cylinder went bad while i was doing this. What can i look for to correct this???

I changed the rear pads on a 2007 Pontiac G5 GT. After everything was together and i went to drive off.....i discovered i now had no pressure on my brake pedal. I checked for leaks...none. I bled all four lines just in case some air got into the lines when i pushed the pistons in to fit over the new pads....still no pressure. I can't believe the master cylinder would've gone bad just setting there while i was changing the pads. What can i look for before it has to be taken to a garage?? I have never experienced this before when changing brake pads.

I did remove the brake line from one of the rear calipers so I could get the piston pushed back in order to get it over the new pads.

if the brake fluid resovoir is full and you havent opened the brake brake system (i.e a bleeder screw or removed a brake line) then you probably need a master cylinder. if the brake fluid IS empty then first you must find the leak and repair it before bleeding will do any good.

From the description you have made so far, you have a faulty Master Cylinder....
