I have a 1997 mercedes benz s500 gas meter is not working properly slow acceleration seems the transmission may be slipping slow on take off car shaking in park and diving

If the RPM's go high and barely moving. The transmission is slipping. Eventually it will stop moving when the clutches are completely worn out. The more you drive it like this, the more internal damage you can cause. The shaking could be this also. But you could need a tune up, or could have bad engine mounts.

Transmission slip

Check the level of the Transmission fluid. Could be low enough that when you are on a hill it doesnt cover the intake

There's many reasons this can happen, but start simple. Fuel pump may be failing. Usually under load they can not supply the fuel the engine is demanding. (Up hill acceleration is a classic example). change the fuel filter first, if that doesn't not correct the problem, test fuel system pressure. (:

I have a 1994 Toyota Collora that shakes and vibrates when applying the brakes to come to a stop and when in idling. More so in the park than in the drive position. Car is a automatic, fuel injected.

They all do it, I believe it is in the torque converter. I own two and they both have well over 250,000 and I put some transmisson slip fix in one and it stopped it for awhile...however I wouldn't recommend any additives unless the trannny is really slipping.

you have a misfire or a failing injector, both can make the light flash, you can get the car tested free at autozone or advance auto parts.

It is probably engine-related, seems to do this under load. How long has it been since you replaced the plug wires? Have you ever replaced the ignition coil(s)? It sounds like a classic secondary ignition issue, so I'd look at those first, depending on miles on the clock you might just be due to replace one, or both-the plug wires are not too expensive and easy to replace, throw in a set of plugs while you do the wires too and you will probably be alright.

This light will come on everytime you loose traction. The computer on the car puts stopping pressure on the tire that is slipping until the slipping is stopped and the correction made.
