How do you open the moist cap? i want yo fill it with water but it wont open

What is this cap on?? Radiator or windshield washer reservoir? Something else?

If the radiator, most newer cars have a plastic bottle or tank that has a "cold" and "hot" level indicated. You should be able to see the coolant level thru the tank. You should NOT need to open the radiator cap if your car has this tank. Add a 50/50 mixture of water and coolant (of a type your car requires) up to the "cold" mark and start the car. Let it run with the heater set to HOT and fan set to HIGH. Continue adding the 50/50 mixture to maintain the coolant level to the HOT level mark on the tank as needed with the engine running. Stop when there is HOT air blowing out of the heater.

If your car does NOT have this tank, you may only open the radiator directly when the engine is COLD. Wait several hours for the engine to cool after shutting off before attempting to remove the cap.

When cold, press DOWN on the cap WHILE turning. Most caps will come off after a 1/4 to a 1/2 turn. Start the engine and set heater HOT and fan to HIGH. Continue to add a 50/50 mixture of coolant to the radiator until the heater blows HOT air. The coolant level in the radiator should be just under (1" or less) from the bottom of the radiator opening.

Have a 04 beetle bug, replaced water pump ,timing belt, thermostat, And water housing did a flush And pressure test cooling system? And yesterday it just shoot up cooling all over the motor? Any sugg?

You new to invest in a coolant pressure test tool. To use it all you have to do is remove either the radiator cap or coolant tank cap and pump the coolant system up. One the cap of the radiator it will tell you how many psi you can pump the system up to. Normally around 14-16 psi. By using this tool you don't have to crank the engine to build pressure in the coolant system. Plus this tool can and will keep you from burning yourself on a hot surface. After you pump the system up. Just get a light and see where the coolant is coming from. I hope this helps.

How to bleed coolant system

I have caps that fit the tanks that will allow pressure to vent thru the overflow tank.
Sometimes you can run the engine with the cap off and keep filling too.

Do not overheat but shoot coolant out the reserved tank

I have found that this happens when I over fill the overflow tank. It should be about one third full to allow redraw of fluid when the car cools. Also check the state of the radiator cap. I would replace it if it looks corroded because if the over flow valve here is no good you would lose coolant back to the overflow tank and quickly run low on coolant, not to mention less cooling at lower pressure.

theres no radiator fill, the cap on the over flow tank is considered the radiator cap, thats where you fill the radiator, hope this helps.

How to flush and change the antifreeze on a 2001 mercury grand marquis

loosen pressure cap slowly at coolant tank to relieve pressure, when pressure is relieved remove cap, place a suitable container under drain valve at bottom of radiator open drain valve.when coolant has stopped draining, close valve.then remove thermostat,[this is a good time to replace t.stat since it must be removed to refill cooling system],disconnect heater core coolant supply hose at rear of intake manifold.add coolant thru t.stat opening until coolant comes out of coolant supply hose fitting, reinstall hose and tighten[not to tight] reinstall thermostat o ring and thermostat.add coolant to tank until the coolant level is between the COOLANT FILL LEVEL marks.select the maximum heater temperature and blower speed settings run engine until it reaches operating temp.add coolant until the coolant level is between the COOLANT FILL LEVEL marks.turn off engine allow it to cool, recheck coolant level, add as needed .ford requires this procedure to avoid engine damage due to trapped air.

On a 2005 Equinox where is the coolant cap? Not that antifreeze holding chamber, but the cap where you are not suppose to open when its hot cause it shoots out everywhere. I want to put all new antifr

Not all vehicles have the cap you are talking about. If your vehicle does have a radiator cap, it will be somewhere along the top of the radiator. Would recommend going to a shop where they have the proper tool(s) to do a coolant flush.
