That is JUST what he did.... I was curious though, do I have to remove the glove box for this? On the Honda we did, but I am not sure of the Sonata... I will accept your answer, you rock!!!!

Your mecahnic most likelt was removing just the blower motor and then cleaning the assembly with a vacuum to remove debri that accumulated from the mice. The diagram below shown as A is where the motor assemblt is mounted with screws and will have to be removed to access the area.

2004 Toyota Tundra - mice got into the fan assembly and the motor

I have seen that most of the time rodents will build a nest right in the middle of the fan on the blower motor. Remove the blower motor and clean the blower fan and clean out the air duct from the blower motor while it is out of the vehicle.

2003 SATURN ION CHIRPING ON BLOWER MOTOR , has a high pitch when the air is turned on seems to be coming from the passenger side.

Sounds like something in the blower motor fan (also called the squirrel cage) Sometimes mice bring things into this for a nest.

Noise from blower fan from mice nest

You should be able to remove just the fan blower from under the passenger side dash and clean out the housing and the blower wheel

Drain some out !! And re-fill it..

Over fill will blow out seals & gaskits and causemajor leaks..

When you are filling it.. The car should be running in park.. The dipstick messures in pints - not quarts..

Rate well ;o)

Hyndai Sonata air conditoning blower only works on high

I agree with 'motgor1258'... replace the blower resistor (it's actually a power transistor).

VIbration in AC/HEATER fan

I've had mice in my Nissan PU and actually caught one in a trap set on the floorboard; so I know they can get inside. They also knocked some of the fiberglass insulation into the blower motor so it vibrated as it was no longer balanced. You could have a dead one in your blower. Mine was easily accessible from under the passenger side under the dash. Three screws and the motor dropped so I could clean out the fiberglass.
