SOURCE: 2004 gmc 1500 sierra heater control stuck on

Defrost is the default position. Is the control a autyomatic temperture control unit? ( you set the temp and select automatic) if it is the system is completely electronic. You push the buttons and the control still says defrost or can you select something else and the control shows it but it just keeps coming out the defrost? If the control changes and the air comes out the defrost anyway and the cheack engine light isn't on, then the problem can be blown fuses or an air door actoater not working. Does the dash emit a clicking sound? if it does with the covers off the bottom of the dash reach around touching the different pieces till you touch the idem that is clicking. this is an acutor motor, or blend door motor. they have gears in them that wear out and break the motors aren't repairable and you just replace the ofending motor. the door that is moves can be stuck. and may have to be freed up with blaster, WD40, or other rust buster till it moves easy. maybe after getting the door to move smoothly you can get the old motor to move the door wiithout having to install a new one.

I have a 56 plate jimny the fourwheel drive light is on on the dash is it stuck in fourwheel drive ?

Did you reverse more than 10 metres? Sounds like the hubs are locked into 4wd.this will work if you have auto hubs.but sometimes you have to turn the hub manually if they don't disengage.if you have gone some time or distance in 4wd

Have 2005 chevy silverado stuck in 4wd-lo will not shift to 2wd all lights are out checked fuses are fine

If all the lights are out then the 4wd switch is bad but,if it won't come out of 4wd-low then the 4wd actuator is bad or stuck. The 4wd actuator is what engages the differential from 2wd to 4wd.HOPE THIS HELPS!!!

I have a 1996 Acura SLX which is basically the same vehicle as the isuzu trooper. My 4wd light will not go off even in 2wd and the other night went into 4wd all on it's own. the shop said a solenoid for...

Check the rubber vaccume pipes on the front axle first as it will do this if the pull out of 4wd one leaks the pull in 4wd one wins .It defaults to 4wd in .

You got 3 solenoids and a shift motor so best narrow it down a bit - try reading on isuzu trooper owners club UK about this problem .

1994 GMC Jimmy 4WD not working

I'm not entirely sure this may be the problem, but I think I know what it is. On the older model S series blazers and jimmy's, they had an air actuation that locked your front differential. Which essentially means that when you press the button for 4wd, there is a little valve that opens and creates a vaccum. That vaccum pulls a pin, activating your 4wd. What may have happened is that it may be stuck halfway between 4wd and 2wd. Your symptoms sound like this is the problem. You may have to do to a shop to get that repaired. It should not be costly, as it may just be a matter of them hooking up a damaged vaccum line. Or you can go an alternate route, and go to a 4wd store (such as desert rat) and purchase a differential lock cable (runs about 125 dollars.) and have that installed. All in all, either route you take, you are probably looking somewhere around 150 to 200 dollars to have it repaired. But it does'nt sound like there is anything majorly wrong with your 4wd. Just the 4wd activation system.
