Question about 2002 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

1 Answer

I have a MB C220 CDI car (2002). As soon as I turn the ignition key, the suction fan starts moving at the highest speed. The coolant level is ok. One mechanic changed a fuse(7.5) in the CAN bus. The problem was over for 30 minutes and the same problem recurred. Where can be the problem? Thanks for an answer.

Possibly be the same fault no power for engine can bus or no power for engine control module if CAN signal not receive the fan control unit from engine control unit fan start run at 100% speed if the same fuse blow again can be wiring short circuit or loose contact some wear or short circuit in the engine control unit when it's become hot.

The fuse information is in the owners manual. MB does not allow free sharing of the manuals to it owners or us, so we do not have the fuse box diagrams. Please check with the dealer on how to order the owner's manual.

My car is getting hot in idle, what is wrong?

Check first your coolant level. Start engine and turn on ac open hood see if cooling fans are running, if fans are running and coolant level is ok temperature should stay normal. If temperature rises squeeze coolant hose, it should be firm like you could feel pressure on the hose a sign that the water pump is good. Thermostat opens only when coolant reach normal operating temperature.

2002 elantra p0128 code. Cleared with a scanner but keeps coming back on. Coolant level seems ok. Fans turn on/off automatically. Coolant temp gage sometimes stays below C when driving on freeway at night,...

I would start with the cheapest fix first. Change the air filter and then replace the coolant temp sensor. Then perform another ODBII scan. Let the scan be your guide to any repairs to avoid buying parts you don't need.

My key for my 2002 mercedes will unlock the doors but will not work in the ignition. Please help

which model do you have? if its a C or an E then it sounds like your drive authorisation system has failed(DAS) basically the ignition switch. Got to be MB dealer or a specialised MB tech with the right computer. Not cheap either, sorry if its bad news

Sounds to be a loose or corroded wire/s at either starter motor or at battery fusible links.
Also check the earth strap (Cable) between engine and bodywork.
Hope this helps, MMP
