Question about Kia Sportage

2 Answers

I have a 2006 sportage kia, I have had the timing belt changed, a tune up done, the transmission fluid flushed, my car has approximately 82, 000 miles on it. I service it ever 3, 000 miles. However, when i am picking up spead and it hits about 30 miles an hour, it pulls back or feels like it wants to cut out-once i pick up speed its ok...just when im at the low gears feels like wants to cut out on me..

Could be a lead or plug breaking down which are the most obvious when under load ,but please explain why the transmission oil changed ?? i was always taught that auto boxes are for old women and the oil in them never needs changing .I have never seen this on any workshop manuals for the need to change the gearbox oil on a auto.

Just transmission telling ECM there is a problem
Possibly a faulty ATF temp sensor if it goes off after warm-up. Whens the last time the fluids been changed? Also have you added "non-Kia" transmission fluid to the transmission? They are not compatible (kia's) with other transmission fluids. If the fluid has started to gel this may be your problem. If you're going to use another brand of fluid , all Kia fluid must be flushed from the system. My advice would be to have your transmission fluid completely changed at the dealer (or a reputable mechanic).
With a little luck that may be all that's wrong. or maybe one or both sensors are bad. But if you've mixed fluids you should definitely remedy that problem. Hope this helps.
Good luck.
If this helps you resolve your problem, please
consider giving me a good rating and a quick
"thanks" or "good job".It will help me as well.
Thank you.

is there any white/grey residue in your radiator ? if not, it doesn't need to be flushed. change transmission oil and filter every 30,000 miles under normal usage, belts should be inspected at least once a year, a tune-up every fall is also recommended

At how many miles do i do auto transmission service and 4x4 service on 2006 kia sportage V6

For Automatic Transmission the fluid needs to be changed around 75,000 miles, but check fluid levels a few times a year to make sure of no leaks the transmission dip stick is located toward the back right of the engine if you can't find it have your mechanic show you where it is at.
