I have a 2003 Hyundai tu iron automatic my cars starts right up I out it in drive but it won't move just revs a lot it also spilled out all the transmission fluid as well

have transmission serviced dont keep trying to drive --if you lucky blew a seal or gasket problem ---if you try to drive it with out fluid can destroy transmission and only fix is to replace it

2000 escort zx2 98000miles transmission cooling lines to the radiator started leaking so i replaced them. the transmission fluid in the lines was dark and thicker than in the transmission. now I am getting...

u need to see a specialist to look at your car, it probably is mixing fluid, give attention to the head and gasket. Make sure your car's themostat/water pump are in good working order. Good luck.

Need to change the transnsmition gasket,need the directions to do so.

If your transmission pan does not have a drain plug - most factory installed pans do not - then you need to put a large collection system in place to catch the transmission fluid for proper disposal. ( pan or bucket - this can get messy) Remove the bolts from the pan leaving a few on one side in place and loosened only so that the fluid spills out over the opposite side of the pan into the collection system. Slowly remove the remaining bolts being careful not to spill the remaining fluid. Might be a good time to put in a drain plug if not already there and the trany filter as well. Clean both mating surfaces and replace gasket and bolts. Be sure to refill with the recommended fluid. I am assuming that you would have the vehicle raised and properly secured (jack stands) before going under the vehicle. Let me know if this helps. Thanks.

If you have an Automatic transmission, you are out of transmission fluid. Check the fluid by viewing the dipstick nearest the engine firewall, and if it is low, add one quart at a time. Do not overfill, or you will blow a gasket and have a bigger problem. You may also need to replace your transmission, if problem reoccurs. To see if your transmission is leaking, park for about an hour, on any flat concrete surface and look for red fluid spills.

absorb the frluid into a white paper towell ... if it is red in color then its transmission fluid .... if its clear or brown then its likely engine oil ... if the transmission is leaking a little then there are additives that can be put in the transmission to soften the seals .. that will often fix small seal leaks ...if the leak is slight and not damaging driveways then its not likely to cause major trouble as long as you keep your eye on the transmission fluid level .. ... if its engine oil then you could have a leaking valve cover gasket, oil pressure sending unit (sensor) ... or it could be jjust from spills as oil is changed or added .

How do you chang the transmission fluid on the 2003 4runner (v8)

Jack you vehicle up and put it on jackstands. Loosen the dipstick tube collar and let the fluid drain into a container. Next take the transmission pan bolts out and remove the pan from the transmission making sure you don't spill the remaining fluid. Next clean the gasket surfaces on the transmission and pan very carefully removing all residue and glue with a solvent and then air dry. Be sure to clean the bottom of the pan thoroughly. Remove the filter from the mount inside the transmission. Now you are ready to install the O-ring and a new filter tightening the bolts securely. Next install the gasket and the pan to the transmission and be sure to torque the bolts with a torque wrench to specifications. Install the dipstick tube and tighten the collar. Lower the vehicle and add the fluid through the filler tube, don't overfill please. Now with the transmission in park and the parking brake set, run the engine at fast idle, but not too fast. Move the gear selector through each range and back to park. Check the fluid level and check for leaks. Now You Are Finished and Ready to Go.

My trans fluid is mixing with my radiator fluid, what can i do.

I hate to contradict the prior poster, but I would not see how a blown head gasket could get transmission fluid into the radiator. Motor oil, yes, but transmission fluid, no.

the transmission fluid in your tranny runs out of the transmission and up into the radiator to cool it off.

So if there is transmission fluid in the radiator, I'd look for a leak in the radiator. If it is mixing the two fluids then the leak is probalby internal.

Remember that if the radiator is now 'mixing' water and transmission fluid, there is a possibility that the fluid/water mixture may be going back into the transmission as well

Transmission fluid leak

Transmissions can leak anywhere there is a seal, fitting or gasket. Most common leaks are at the trans pan gasket and fittings.. However, to find a leak the only way is to get under there and look. A mid sized leak will clean off road debris and leave a track. Keep in mind that all leaks run down and that while driving this can be blown towards the rear of the vehicle. If you find a suspicious area, clean it off with a rag & some solvent and run that area for seepage. Also check cooling lines to radiator. Fluid coming from inside bellhousing indicates a bad front seal (requires trans removal to repair) Fluid should be (for aw4 units) Mercon, or any quality synthetic that covers mercon application.

alright, so you added transmission fluid because it was low and you didn't spill any into the radiator fluid and it didn't spill over into the radiator at all correct? Well you are right in thinking with the radiator as there is a transmission cooler that is inside the radiator. If this is cracked, or the lines leading from the transmission to the cooler inside the radiator are cracked, the fluid gets into the cooling system. So either you have to fix the crack which May be possible but the easier fix will probably be the replacement of the radiator. You should get this fixed as soon as possible as you don't want the transmission fluid to be low while driving the car. And there really isn't any other place for the fluids to be mixed together so you are totally right in thinking. good luck on the replacement and let me know if you need anything else
