Check for a fuel regulator failure. Remove rubber hose from regulator and if there is any quantify of fuel in that hose, then the regulator has failed. You can also use a guage to screw on a valve on the fuel line to make sure you have adequate pressure in the line after you turn the key to the on position.

Have the codes read. Many things can cause this. Vacuum leaks, stuck idle air control motor, clogged catalytic converter/s, and clogged fuel filter. Just to name a few.

sounds like a fuel supply fault. With backfiring it can be attributed to a faulty ignition component of a bad fuel air will probably need the services of a good Nissan mechanic to diagnose and
rectify the problem but it is almost certainly not very serious at the moment from what you describe. Have it seen to before it develops into something worse is what I advise.

sounds like to me the fuel pump is not getting the adceute fuel pressure to supply the demand of acceleration check fuel filter

Wont go from stop/small inclines jerks also when accelerating

Buick LeSabre 2000 limited jerks when it shifts into a 2nd gear.

run scanner for trouble codes, some auto parts stores will do this for free, change plugs and wires

fuel filter is located on firewall near brake master cylinder on drivers side.
