Question about 1995 Pontiac Trans Sport

Open Question

I have a 95 Pontiac Transport with 3.8 engine. What it does is idle up and down and usually stalls if you don't have a foot on brake and gas at same time. I have codes p0341, p1640, & p1670. The p0341 is the crank sensor performance, Well I change the sensor after getting the codes and still runs the same. The other 2 codes I'm not sure what they are and what i should do to repair this problem. Does anyone have a solution? Thanks

SOURCE: firing order

If it's a 3.1 or 3.4, firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6

If it's a 3.8, firing order is 1-6-5-4-3-2.

On a 3.1 the rotation is Clockwise.

All the best.

I put in another battery in my 2000 dogde truck.now it wont idle on its own.

Robert, You may have to try this relearn procedure.
Warm the engine, but hold your foot on the throttle as necessary to keep the engine running.
  1. With vehicle in Park, slowly release the throttle so that the engine will idle on its own. You may have to work at this a bit.
  2. Let the engine idle on its own for about one minute.
  3. Continue to let the engine idle and with your foot on the brake, place the transmission in Drive and let the engine idle for another minute.
  4. Continue to let the engine idle with your foot on the brake and the transmission in Drive. Turn the A/C on and let the engine idle for another minute with the A/C compressor running.
  5. Turn the ignition off and wait a minute. Check the attached links,

Honda stalls going from idle to driving

I recommend doing a leak down test. It could be valves or blow by. Also try cleaning the idle air control valve (IAC-V), the exhaust gas recirculation valve (EGR), and fast idle valve (if it has one).

My 95 nissan maxima is idling rough and then stalling when i let off the gas or am stopped at a light or stop sign; i have replaced the coolant temperature sensor, not it. Took it to the nissan dealership...

the problem is fuel related and nowhere else
it indicates a vacuum leak , either at the manifold , brake booster , transmission actuator hose/unit for the transmission or hoses that control under that dash
bad at stopping at light indicates that it is the brake booster
simple test is to put the hand brake on, start the engine and if it idles ok , put your foot on the brake
if still ok move vent controls ,
if with the foot on the brake it plays up , replace the brake booster

Have you checked your fuel filter or fuel pump as these can cause your engine to to shut off, but there usually is some sort of warning, but not always.
