Not much but what happened to the engine when it broke is a lot. Doesn't always destroy a motor but often bends and warps thing. The cost of the new timing belt should be the least of your worries.

How much to change timing belt on kia sorento 2006

This all depends on what engine you have and also if you are going to just do the belt.
this car , if you have a 100,000 miles or close you should do the job right, right meaning replace the timing belt ,water pump and timing belt pulleys and tensioner, this could run about $1200.00.

the same job with the smaller engine could be $800.00

if you just do the belt alone which is not the right way but can be done then it may cost about $500.00 -$600.00

At what mileage should the timing belt on my kia sorento 2005 be changed?

the factory calls for every 60,000 miles, do not go over this mileage, if the belt breaks the valves will hit the pistions and u have a huge and expensive repair.

Timing belt change for kea sorento

Hi, best way to do this, is take it to a mechanic. There is to much drama if you do it yourself. I had mine changed when I bought my 05 sorento 6 mths ago. Will prob cost around $500

Kia sorento seat belts dont retract strongly enough and are very slow in retracting sometimes staying loose,i assume you can retension them but how do you get into the panels

no you cant service your belts unless you want to die
the belts are not designed to be serviced if you have a problem with your seat belts eithor live with it or replace them if you take them apart you are playing a dangerous game

goto local auto recyclers and tear a kia apart there great place to learn and little cost if you break somthing in a scrap yard

Dealer is recommending a new timing belt on my 2005 Kia Sorento.

its at dealer cost if they dont do the work i think it voids the warranty...if you go to a private shop you should be able to get it done much cheaper.but may void the warranty if hey say they have to do the work
