When it overheats, are you driving slowly/idling, or are you going above 40 MPH? Similarly, when the a/c is on but it does not overheat, what are you doing?
What clutch did you replace? Does this have an electric fan or a belt-driven fan?

The only thing that you didn't change is the t-stat. If you have an electric fan clutch, the dealership has an updated program that changes the time it comes on and off. I would try the t-stat. You may need to have your vehicle checked for a bad head gasket, but I am leaning towards the t-stat.

The thermostats in the 4.2L motors are known to fail. Usually they open too early setting a code. In your case it sounds like it's not opening or opening very late causing it to overheat.

2002 GMC Envoy idle goes low when AC is turned on

There is usually an idle solenoid on the throttle body that is designed to bump up the idle when the A/C is switched on, this could be bad, or out of adjustment.

Can the ac compressor come out bottom with 4X4 2002 slt model gmc envoy???????????? with out lifting engine or pulling sub engine cradel???????

Removing from bottom is not possible, too many things in the way. If you remove the alternator, the belt pulley and the engine hoist bracket, the compressor should come out the top.

Ac on 2002 envoy not working. temp on inside says 50 when it is hotter outside.

Ambient temperature sensor is not reading correctly. This will affect whether or not the a/c can be turned on.

Where is the temperature control sensor located on a 2003 gmc envoy

The engine coolant temperature sensor(ect)is located
on the front of the engine, just above the alternator.
Hope this helps.

I have a 2004 Gmc Envoy putting out a code of 0128 what does this mean?

It means the car has not reached operating temp. The computer wants the engine a certain temp so it can go into "closed loop" where it fine tunes the fuel mix for optimum economy and emissions. If it cannot reach that temp it sets that code. You either have a low coolant level or a stuck open/missing thermostat.
