I'd change the plugs, wires and the ignition coil if you can see cracks. They are enclosed in oil so you may see oil as well but engine may be oily all over. If all of that is original then replace those three thing. Cost maybe $150 if you do it yourself.

although I'm trading it in, it's more of an idle control problem coming to a stop. it'll happen a couple of times when not fully warm. possibly an idle learn thing ,programming, resetting computer, maybe even a small vacume leak.--thanks for your help, but the wife wants a new one anyway.

Replaced tcc 2006 Ford Escape XLT. Shifter moves, accelerates, but does not move?

Replace the valve body, no that would gain you nothing. The P0741 is a Torque converter fault, it is either not locking up or is stuck off, but that would not stop the car from moving. I suggest you seek professional help from a transmission repair shop.

I need to replace my pcv valve on 2003 ford escape 6 cyl weher is it located

look on top of each valve cover for a bent 90 degree connector with a hose attached that goes to either the air cleaner or the main vacuum tower intake connection.. this connector when removed shoud rattle a bit if not replace it it may be clogged..now some can be cleaned out with carb cleaner and reused as long as they rattle internally( means the ball is free) good luck

PCV valve failed visual inspection during smog test, but the car passed physical smog test. How to replace 2002 Ford Escape PCV valve assembly?

remove the hose to the PCV and It simply pulls out and a new one is pushed in and hose is inserted back on. It's kind of like a cork. I can not believe they check for visual inspection. Here in SC, we don't have inspections. But anyways, GOOD LUCK

How do you remove a pcv valve on a 2001 ford escape v6 3.0

The PCV valve is at the end of a plastic or rubber hose which goes into the valve cover,, just pull it off the hose and replace with a new one.

Car dies when stopping or slowing down, hesitates on acceleration

check for a vacuum leak, you could possibly hear a whistle under the hood,or you can spray starter fluid near the intake manifold where the suspect leak could be and if the engine accelerates it has an vacuum leak, try the simple things first, can also be a clogged PCV valve,it is in the valve cover somewhere and it will have a rather large rubber hose going to the intake manifold
