Suggest you refill both the radiator and the reserve with coolant. Check all your radiator hoses if cracked or worn replace. Then check the next day if you are still losing coolant taske it in for repair.

Yes this could be a hose, a heaterhose, fill the cooling system and run the engine so that preasure build then before it gets hot shut it down and look for mhoses and squeeze them and try to locate coolant coming out , a preasure tester would be a great tool to find this leak but by you squeezing the hoses you should find the leak or even when the engine runs it may push water out, or sometimes when filling the system you can find the leak. hope this is helpful.

The Heater Core is out. It's located under the passenger side under the dash in the black housing.

Where is the thermostat on a 1999 ford taurus?

Follow upper radiator hose. It will lead directly to thermostat housing on the engine. Under the housing which has 3 bolts, is the thermostat.

1999 taurus. 6 cyl OHV. Ran fine over the weekend. Parked car in driveway. Started this morning. Heard high(RPM) pitch winding sound coming from engine or tranmission. Noticed will not reverse or move into...

Check for vacuum lines going to transmission or any vacuum line under hood. It is possible an animal chewed on the lines or wires. We get a few reports of that at Fixya.

You might also look under the dash by the pedals for a vacuum leak. There are vacuum switches for parking brake release and the neutral start switch.
