You should have a trunk release inside the car, theres a button on the driver door to open the trunk.

How do i open Mercedes-Benz 1998 E320 trunk from the fuse box under the hood

You may be able to unlock the trunk from the door lock pump under the back seat. Remove the rear seat bottom and the insulation from the right side. You'll see the battery and a foam box. The door lock pump (PSE) is in the foam box. You need to remove the vacuum line for the trunk latch (labeled RTR or RHR on the PSE pump) and apply some air pressure to it to unlock the trunk. You should then be able to open the trunk normally, unless the trunk lock key tumbler is in the lock position, then you need a key to get in.

I have a 1996 Volkswagon Cabrio. I was notified that the back right tail light is burnt out. Can you assist? I would like to try to fix it myself.

If this is helpful, please vote for my answer:
1 Open the trunk and pull up the carpet in the trunk. 2 Remove the screw bolts that hold the trim piece to the back of both of the tail light housings. 3 Remove the trim backings to expose the tail lights. 4 Remove the electrical plug running to the bulb's ballast. Squeeze the top of the connector's release tab and remove the plug. 5 Turn the bulb counterclockwise to remove it from the housing. 6 Remove the screw bolts on the inside of the trunk that hold the tail light housing to the body. 7 Pull the tail light housing off. 8 Replace bulb with same

98 volkswagon cabrio convertable gls battery & alarm trouble

I had a simular problem with my car nto starting, but the alarm didn't have issues just the headlights and the radio not turning off. I replaced the ignition switch and the problem was fixed for a while until the ignition switch malfunctioned again. The ignition switch is a cheap plastic part that connects the key to the engine, and has a tendency to break. Maybe this will help. Btw, I have a 1998 and mine is not starting well, do you know anything about #3 relays? I think I may need to replace it, so that my car will start and not putter to a stop randomly while driving. The problem only arises when the car is not yet warm. Amy ideas?

2002 volkswagon beetle says that the trunk is when not.

The switch in the trunk which tells the alarm that the trunk lid is closed is either defective or not correctly adjusted. If this info is of no help to you, than you don't know enough to fix it. Take it to a reputable VW shop for repair.

Alarm / electrical issues for 1998 Cabrio

Sounds like 2 problems. One a low battery. When you used the laptop you might have drained the battery of the vehicle. The alarm sounds like broken wires in door harnesses between the doors and frame. Remove the rubber seal beween the door and body of the car and look for cracked and broken wires. If they are broken or touching it can cause many wierd problems. Once you locate it which is easy you can show a certified mechanic and he or she can repair or replace the harness.
