How do I flush my transmission myself

Is your transmission automatic or manual ?

For automatic, lift vehicle and secure on jack stands and chuck rear wheels. Remove transmission drain plug and then remove all bolts that hole pan in place. Once pan is off, remove bolts that hold filter and remove. Installation is in reverse order. Once vehicle on ground, begin adding Trans fluid with vehicle running. Check level once it's reached normal operating temperature.

Transmission takes to long to get in gear

http://www.aa1car.com/library/transmission_chrysler_45rfe.htm I would flush the trans for 100 dollars or change fluid and filter myself. If you could get them cheap at a junk yard replace the transmission control module.Go to auto zone or other auto parts store and get trans codes pulled for free. Spending 100 dollars on a flush every year or two is a lot cheaper than a 4,000 dollar or more rebuilt trans bill

My mechanic told me I have transmission fluid in my power steering and I should get it flushed. How do I go about flushing it myself?

Easiest is pull one of the hoses and let drain, make sure you pull cap of reservoir off. Then refill with PS fluid. (It happens to the best of us)

Doing my own work

Why would you be considering a power steering flush? Some mechanic shop try and ****** you telling you you needed one or why do you want to do it? Servicing the transmission I can understand though but you don't need to do them very often. Problem is when you do them yourself, you take off the pan where the filter is and drain it that way. You are only able to drain about 1/3 to a half of the fluid unless you hook it up to a flush pump like they have at the mechanic shops. It flushes all the fluid and then you can replace with new tranny fluid.

Transmission Flush in a 1998 Honda CR-V?

just do the drain and trans filter, forget the flush, it doesn't replace the filter which is the most important part of a trans service

How do you change the manual transmission fluid in a 2006 chevy aveo?

Hello,

In a manual car you do not change or flush the transmission fluid. the only fluid you change is the gear oil for the clutch. The manual transmissions do not have the ability to be flushed or changed as it does not have the same internals as an automatic transmission

Cheers!

Flush/replacde means the same thing. I have never known or been told of a difference between the two.
