Question about 1988 BMW 7 Series
Speedometer problem can be just a speed sensor malfunction...Before anylysing whats the problem its unfair to guess how much it would cost.

Yes. You are correct. They are a very good car and you will very much enjoy the drive. Transmissions are are pretty solid as well as the engine. The key to their longevity, is to find someone you trust and KNOWS BMWs so they can perform the proper services and repiars at the proper time. That is where a lot of people fail and then so to do the cars. What sub model do you have(or are purchasing)(i.e. 740, 750, etc.) and I will look up parts price info for you. Stay away from the 750i!!
