have the multi function switch tested. you may have a bad ground in it (horn works by routing to ground which makes it a good source for a short.

What is causing horn from steering wheel not to work?

You will need a wiring diagram but test the power to the column multi plug to see if power is available. Then carefully ground that wire and see if the horn sounds. The horn contact is basically a brass ring and a sliding contact to allow the passage of current as the wheel is turned. Operating the horn is just grounding the supply via the ring. It works off the FOB by a separate relay triggered by the signal.

I had to pull relay out for horn because my horn started blowing when I turned the wheel. How do I fix the problem with the horn blowing when I turn

To fix it properly, you would need to remove the steering wheel to access the wiring for the horn. It has most likely become chafed by improper routing and is shorting out when you turn the wheel. Another, perhaps simpler fix would be to find the horn wire coming out of the bottom of the steering column. Cut it, splice a new wire to it and route it to one side of a horn button you can install on the dashboard. Run a wire from the other side of the button to chassis ground. Test the horn for operation by pressing the button. No more accidental beeping.

I have a 2004 malibu--the horn works some times--maybe when I turn the corner, on the highway going straight--it will not work--took to firestone, they want to charge me 300.00 for a part--do you know why ...

whith the engine running and the vehicle parked bush on the steering wheel to activate the horn while rotating the steering wheel at the same time. If the horn beeps at certain points in the steering wheels rotation than either the clock spring has gone bad or the horn contact button has gone bad in the multi-function switch.
