Simlest answer could be brake dust,...bearings would make the noise all the time, hence the question.noise would go about 10ft into drive...and possibly as soon as you touch brakes after pulling away...

My front end shakes and has a grinding noise

Need more detail please. What year, make, and model of car are you referring to? Does the front end only shake when the car is moving? Is it only above a certain speed? Do you feel the shake in the steering wheel or only in the car? Is the grinding noise all the time, only when turning, only when braking, etc.?

The more detail you can provide, the better chance you'll have of getting a decent answer.

There is a grinding and clunking noise coming from my left front tire on my 850 volvo (96). I replaced the hub bearing and the brakes and rotores are new too.

Really need more info to help you locate and correct this problem, when does grinding occur? Just when applying brakes? at a certain speed without breaking? Same for Clunking Noise. If I had to go off the info I have I would remove wheel and check to make sure pads are still positioned correctly and check to make sure the caliper bolts and caliper bracket bolts are tight

1989 Ford F 150 lariat 4x4 pick up pops out of reverse and makes a terrible grinding noise until it's put back in noise is coming from transfer case fluids have been checked and changed no shavings also...

You must have a manual transmission. Rebuild it. synchronizers are bad. The reason for grinding. Then you have worn shift forks. Reason for popping out of gear. Also replace any worn bearings or just get the bearing kit and replace them all, with the races.

Grinding noise

Can be brake pads are thin and the warning scraper is what you hear. Might be a wheel bearing.

Transfer case grinds on take off from stop

it might be a loose chain that drag on the bottom of the case.
have a shop to do this job if you dont have enough knowledge for changing chain of transfercase.
and be sure to use the right type of fluid.

1995 Caprice Classic has whining noise, what are the possibilities? It seems to be associated with speed, not when idling or same pitch.

if it is speed related then the most probable cause is a faulty wheel bearing, particularly if it only starts when u reach a certain speed.
