Theres two sensor one is the coolant temp sensor that is for your ecm it tells the computer how much fuel you need to perform at optimum performance it will be located on the backside of the intake now if its the coolant temp sender that actually tells the gauge were to sit that is going to be located on or at the thermostat which if you follow your upper radiator hose to your engine that where your thermostat will be located under the housing the house is hooked to the sender will be located there good luck

Location of thermostatic switch 1993 Buick Regal 3.8 motor fan motors don't run

The fans are controlled by the ECM and it uses the ECT sensor for temperature sensing, so if the check engine light isn't on the sensor is not the problem. You need to have an active test run on the fan system to see what code is returned. Have you tried powering up the fans at the relay?

Where is the tempurture cooling sensor located on a 1994 buick regal

The coolant temperature sensor is a thermistor mounted in the engine coolant stream. A thermistor is an electrical device that varies its resistance in relation to changes in temperature.

For 2.5L engines, the coolant temperature sensor is located on the left side of the cylinder head.

For MFI engines, the coolant temperature sensor is located on the intake manifold water jacket or near (or on) the thermostat housing.

1991 buick regal , 3.8lt,

1991 3.8 liter engines used a Mass Air Flow sensor in the intake tract (measures incoming air) instead of a MAP sensor. The MAF sensor is located on the engine just behind where intake hose is attached.
