The power window doesnt work how do i fix it - 2003 Pontiac Montana

it is a relay that normally doesnt fail,if none of your windows work quite often the master switch has gone bad

If you can't hear the motor when you press the window switch it's the motor. If you can hear the motor it's the window regulator.

Go in this order if you find a fault fix & retest.. Check fuses, check possible relay, check power & ground to switch, attempt to supply power to motor - if it doesnt work replace motor, if it does trace through the previous steps

YOU WILL NEED TO REPLACE THE WINDOW REGULATOR ASWEMBLY TO FIX THIS PROBLEM..

sound like power window lock out switch on position locking out windows keep them from working.

It may be a bad Power Window Switch, if the Power Window Motor goes up and down when you ran power leads to it but doesn't work with the switch, than the switch is bad. Replace the power window switch and it should work fine.

i don't have a solution but my car did the same thing in october 2009 and i still have not had it repaired. I am told it is something electrical because its your fuel pump is not coming on and that is why the car is not starting but it doesnt make since why the windows and power seats dont work. I have also been told the only thing that connects the 3 of them is the body control module.

The window regulator cable has gone bad, the only fix is to replace the window regulator, there no repair kit for the cable.

Biggest reason power door locks and windows stop working: spilt soda, coffee on switch contacts. This is especially true if your window switch is on the middle console. To fix this, with the car turned off (make sure no power going to the window motors) unscrew the switch and run isopropyl alcohol through the contacts. DO NOT USE WATER as the contacts can rust. If you cant unscrew the switch, then gently pour isopropyl alcohol on the switch and allow an hour to dry before trying 2nd reason: your window motor is dead and needs to be replace. 3rd reason: your window maybe off-track, or the track linkages may be stuck or broken. Listen to see if you can hear the vibration of the window motor trying to run to make sure motor not dead, then unscrew the door cover and fix the track or linkage problem.
