Providing all the work is done correctly then it might take a while to start as you need to get the oil into the hydraulic tappets.. then it still might sound noisey untill it has done 10 - 20 miles

Cylinder head torque specification

These are specific to individual engines and you have not bothered to indicate the year , make and model of vehicle you have and specifically which engine is fitted.

I suggest your source a service manual for the vehicle you have which if sufficiently detailed will include the torque specs for many of the engine components and the correct sequence for tightening the cylinder head bolts which is also critically important when you are refitting the heads..

What issues can I expect if it doesn't restart?

If the belt broke you are facing bent valves in the cylinder head. If the vehicle is single over head cam.... bet on bent valves. If the vehicle is dual over head cam ... you may be ok. The dealership should be able to perform a cylinder leak down test to determine whether or not the there is a valve issue before disassembling anything.

My vauxhall astra 1.4 just died whilst driving there saying its the cambelt

To be 100% certain the cambelt is broken the cam cover needs to be removed take out the top 4 M6 bolts this will let you pull back the cover to check the belt if it's broken cylinder head off to check valves and pistons for damage good luck

Corsa 14 it frose due 2 no antifreeze tried 2 start it cambelt not snapped but does seem 2 lock engine will it had damaged valves ? is it worth trying a cambelt ?it a 1996 model 16 valve .

i would say no if it froze then it has poss. cracked the cylinder head and/or block
if the engine locks up then most likely the cylinder has water or ice causing a hydrastatic lock
best advice i can give you is get a used engine
hope this helps

Nned to know how to set the cam and engine timing

Start with crankshaft pulley. At the rear of the pulley is a notch. Align it with the mark on the oil pump.(No 2 piston is at TDC) There is also a groove on the pulley that needs to be aligned with the white dots on the cambelt. The lettering on the belt must be readable as viewed from the front of the vehicle.
(When seated in the vehicle the RH bank of the engine is on the RH side of the vehicle.Keep this in mind)
At the front of the camshaft pulley is a groove. Rotate the RH bank camshaft pulley to align this groove with the mark on the cylinder head cover. On the cambelt is a white line. This must also align with these marks. Do the same on the LH bank. To be sure the cams are now correctly aligned remove the cylinder head cover. On the camshaft drive gears the letters RI(Right intake) and RE(Right exhaust) will be at the top and readable for the RH bank. (For the LH bank it will be LI and LE) Reinstall the tensioner and rotate the crankshaft with a wrench to make sure there is no unintentional mechanical contact.

Has water in cylinders , stalled out while driving..will not start..

if theres water in the cylinders that means you have ablown head gasket, ande the oil is probably a milky or creamy colour, its not going to start untill you repair the haed gasket by removing cylinder head and having it checked for cracks and warpage, having it repaired and refitting it with a new head gasket
