The battery likely has a dead cell. Have it load tested for free at the parts store.

take your car to a autolect
because you draw more current as what your altenator can charges let him test your altenator it must charges at 13.05 volts

1998 Ford Explorer 5.0 battery won't charge,

Probably because your Battery is Bad... Try Charging and LOAD TESTING our battery and then if the battery tests good, Test your Alternator and see if it is charging properly.

Maybe when you installed the New Alternator, you missed a connection or have too many wires on one connector... You have have to take some pics to see what is going on.

Saab 93 1.9 tid warning battery not charging car died whilst driving charged battery at home car now starting lights all out is this battery prob or alternator?

The easiest way to check is with the car running, disconnect the positve side of the battery, if the car dies, then it is the altenator, if the car keeps running then it is the battery. If you have a volt ohm meter, check the chrge going to the battery you should get between 12 and 14 volts if it is lower than 12 you have an altenator issue. the altenator should always produce enough to charge the battery and run the car at the same time, if not then the battery wears down.

Blinking battery indicator

the altenator will test fine although if they did not test with a voltmeter on the car reversing the voltmeters probes on the battery I would say the diode is at fault. when a diode goes bad and the battery is fully charged or new the voltage will look fine but the altenator will not charge as it should, a diode keeps the current from reversing which would be called a direct current as all cars have. if the diode is faulty the current will reverse becoming an altenating current a will not produce a charge to the battery

The dealer repair shop for my 2000 Jaguar XK8 said I have a grounding problem causing my car not to charge properly. The conections on the battery checked ok and the braided ground cable checked ok to the...

Check to see if you have a ground cable from the battery to the engine block. Then using a volt meter check the voltage coming from the altenator to the battery. Voltage should be 14-15 volts. There again the engine needs a solid ground from the battery. With ground attached to engine and you tested it and found that the voltage was not as i described then the altenator is at fault. Be sure the radio and a/c is turned off during test. hope this will help you.

Battery or altenator

with the engine idling, check the voltage at the battery terminals. if its between 13 and 14.6 volts the alternator is probably ok. If its below 13V you need a new alternator. above 15V same thing.
Why did u think it needed repair? is your battery not holding a charge?
