Double check your water level and for air bubbles. Run the heater once the engine is at operating temperature and check the level again. This should be a good operating temperature for this engine. This is a GM product and this a pretty standard operating temp. for these engines. If it gets any higher I would definately worry but, for now, you are in the clear! Let me know if you need anything else.

Vauxhall astra 1.7 td heater not getting hot

Assuming the fan works ok, it sounds like the cable from hand control to heater valve has come off or needs adjusting or replacing. Or (less likely) there is a problem with the mechanical valve. The valve needs to open to allow hot water to flow through to the mini radiator (heater radiator) and then both coolant pipes and mini radiator get hot with a warm engine. Try moving the valve lever by hand (somewhere above the clutch pedal).and If you start getting heat with the fan on the fault is the cable..

Changed water pump thermostat coolant car still runs hot

It could be a leaking head gasket, or blockage in the cooling system such as sludge in the radiator, or a faulty cooling fan.
How long can you drive it before it gets to 220 degrees, and is the fan coming on ?

My 2005 cobalts cooling fan only comes on when the a/c is one. i have a new fan, thermometer and my water pump is not leaking out water so i doubt its the water pump.

SOUND LIKE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR OPEN OR BAD.HAVE THE ECT SENSOR CHECK WITH CODE SCANNER SEE IF ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR READING TEMPERATURE RIGHT.IF ENGINE COOLANT 200 DEGREES AND SCANNER SHOWS 80 TO 100 DEGREES YOUR ECT SENSOR BAD.

When should cam belt be changed on 1999 vauxhall astra 1.6 16v car. I am looking to buy car with 61000 mileage and 7 stamps by vauxhall dealer. Seller doesn't know if belt has been done. Thanks

For 1999 Vauxhall Astra 1.6 16V timing belt replacement interval is: 60000 km (37500 miles), or 48 months (4 years). Replace also tensioner roller, (the same interval) !
If you don't know precisely if timing belt has been done, then replace it obligatory !!!

Please rate my response. Thanks!
