1---the drawing is so small i can't read the key

2---my vandura has 3 belts (maybe 4 in the past---for some sort of polution controldevice)

these drawings show only one serpentine belt

I still need help with this

thanks for your efforts----you see why I need help.

At the outset --one of the fields i needed to fill in was the year of my van dura and offered me

only 1984 or 1987-----i chose 87-----that might help you.

and actually your suggestion on what the belts should go around may be the way we need to go.

Your suggestion did not include the crank shaft pulley.----unless that is what the "harmonic balancer"is.

so I have : an alternator ----1 belt groove

    power s--------1 " "

    water pump --3 " "

    crank shaft ---3 " "

    a/c compressor--1 " "

    alt has its own tightener

    a/c has its own tightener

    p/s has it own tightener

rad fan is on the same shaft as water pump

    I think-----------------alt belt goes around alt/wp/crank

    a/c-------------------------ac comp/wp

    what do you think

    k--or keny44

The solution was helpful in that although a drawing was not available the explanation of where the belts go was good.

I have been looking all over to find a diagram. The one I sent you is the only one I could find. They must have put a different configuration on some of them. I am terribly sorry. There is a suggestion I can give you. Take a long piece of string and wrap it around the alternator, then the water pump and harmonic balancer pulley. Them measure the string. That should give you the length of belt you need. The air conditioning belt should be around the a/c compressor, water pump and then harmonic balancer. And the power steering should just be by itself and the harmonic balancer. I hope that this helps. Sorry I could not give you the diagram that fits your vehicle. I have 6 places to get these diagrams and I sent you the only one I found.

I need a diagram for a 2008 dodge avenger drive belt 2.4L 4cylinder

the belt routing should be under the hood or on the upper rad support.some of these are on the timing cover in the form of a placard.if it is missing then draw the routing of the belt before you remove it making sure you draw all the pullys and how the belt goes around them.or you can get the routing from the parts store you bought the belt from.or the library has books that will show it for your car and motor

Replace alternator

The alternator belt on the 1999 Dodge Caravan also controls the air conditioner compressor, the water pump and the power steering pump. The belt is called a serpentine belt, and it is designed to fit around all of the accessory pulleys at the same time. As the belt travels around each accessory pulley, it enables the accessory to operate. Once the belt is damaged, cracked or frayed, you should change it before it breaks. If that happens, each of the accessories will stop working.

Open the hood and prop it up so that it does not fall. Engage the parking brake.

Inspect the top surface of the fan shroud for the serpentine belt routing diagram. Follow the routing instructions on the diagram to install the new belt.

Locate the serpentine belt self-adjusting tensioner on the front of the engine. The tensioner is directly below the alternator. Use the bolt that connects the tensioner pulley to the tensioner arm to rotate the tensioner.

Turn the tensioner device counterclockwise to move the tensioner. This will relieve the tension from the belt. Once the belt has enough slack in it, slide the belt out from under the tensioner pulley.

Lift the belt off each accessory pulley. Slide the belt around the fan blades and out of the engine area.

Lay the old belt next to the new belt to ensure that the new belt is the correct width and length. Slide the belt around the fan blades and around the crankshaft pulley on the bottom of the engine.

Follow the belt routing diagram to position the belt around the air conditioner compressor pulley, the power steering pump pulley, the water pump pulley and the idler pulley. Once the belt is routed inside each accessory pulley, inspect the belt to make sure that it is securely inside the pulleys.

Crank the 1999 Dodge Caravan for 10 to 15 seconds to completely seat the belt ribs in the grooves on each accessory pulley. Shut the engine off and close the hood.

If the belt routing diagram for the 1999 Dodge Caravan is missing, use a pen and a notepad to draw the exact routing of the old belt and use it when installing the new belt.

How to change the Alternator on 2003 Ford Escape

Hi, the first thing you will need to do is disconnect the battery cable. then take a wrench and release the tension on the serpentine belt by using the wrench to turn the tensioner to release the tension. From expirience i would draw a diagram of the belt routing before removing it. after the belt is removed you will need to remove the power wire from the back of the alternator by removing the nut that holds it on, then remove the connector from the side or back. there are three bolts holding the alternator to the engine. they should be a 15 mm or a 13 mm. assembly is reverse of removal. good luck
