Question about 2004 GMC Sierra Denali
Sounds like the transmission.Delayed shifting and winding out sounds very much like the transmission.I burned a couple about 25 years ago and it did that same thing.Since then they have sensors on the transmission and I am not sure what they are exactly for because I have driven a stick ever since due to much cheaper replacement. If you end up changing the transmission,I have rarely seen good results with a rebuild or a used one.A new one will cost more but will save numerous migraines.
Good luck! Greg
