It may take a few miles for the computer to recalibrate to its best setting. or the new battery may not have as many cold cranking amps as the original. also your car has a side post battery, sometimes they do not get a good connection if there is any corrosion present. always use electrical grease to seal off terminals.

I have a 2013 Elantra and it is -20 c and tried to start the car. Lots of power everything turns on. But I have a single click and the car won't start is that my starter.

Most likely the battery has insufficient charge to turn over the starter motor.

If you can start the car by jump starting from the battery in another vehicle then you know your battery is the problem. In that event it needs to be recharged or replaced if it will no longer hold power. It is probably the original battery in the car and typically these can give trouble in anything from 3 - 5 years depending on quality and a range of other factors.

Trying to start car I get instant draw-down of battery and car won't start

Looks like the battery has lost the capacity to provide current for the starter motor.

Need to replace the battery or jump start from another vehicle.

This is a diesel 87. I turn the key over to glow pug position and get no light. I have a block htr and the car starts instantly when I go to ignition. Today same situation but in the ignition position I...

All I can think of is:

1. Are the battery terminals clean? (even then it should probably still turn)
2. Are the connections clean/fallen off on the starter motor.

A quick way to test the battery is to switch on hgih beam and try and start the car. If they go very dim then the battery needs charging or one of the cells is gone.

Hope this helps.

Why does it take 3-4 turns of the key to start my car? the first time I turn it the engine turns over normal. The 2nd time it tries to start. The 3rd time it starts but dies instantly. Then it will start...

Before you start the car for the 1st time of the day, pump the gas pedal 4-5 times to push the fuel towards the engine. I had a car which needed many pedal pumps, which was common for the car but mine had a iced up carburettor.

You car starts when it has been driven as the fuel is already at the engine. You could get a higher pressure fuel pump but pumping the gas pedal will work just fine.

Hope this helps, vote for me please :)

How do you remove a battery from a 2002 chevy malibu

First remove Hold down clamps . Next remove cables , negative first then positive. Then remove the battery, its a good idea to wear gloves and eye protection when doing this.

You must find out how many Cold Cranking amps (CCA) your car needs to start, thats the size battery you purchase. Make sure its top or side post and same physical size as possible as your old battery.
Installiation is the reverse of removal.

I recommend bench testing the starter. If it works then you may have a seized engine or there may be a problem with tranny installiation or rebuild.
