1. Question. Are you sure you only have 1 cooling fan? If YES, then you probably have a faulty coolant temperature switch . It should be located very close to your thermostat housing . Keep in mind that you have a coolant temperature sensor for your computer and also one for your temperature gauge . Therefore, be sure to replace the right one .

One of the cooling fan not working on 2007 Honda pilot

Have you checked in all conditions. Many cars with two cooling fans do not have both fans running all the time. On some, the second fan only comes on with the air conditioning or with the engine above a certain temperature or both. Check the manual to see when it's supposed to come on before you decide it needs to be changed.

The cooling fan only work's when I have the air-conditioning on, when I put it off the motor starts to over heat, what can it be.I though it was the thermostat and I pull it out but I still have probl

Is there a reason for the cooling fan to work when the air conditing is off? Perhaps when you have outside air coming into the cab and you want more of the outside air? Your Owner's manual may help and may provide some trouble shooting help.

On my 2001 Honda Accord EX, the cooling fans will not come on when the air conditioner is turned on and it will not cool. What is causing this?

sounds like an air conditioning issue if your only complaint is the fans not coming on when air conditioning is used. you need to have the a/c sys checked out to see if you have a leak or perhaps refrigerant may be low. sometimes you may have a compressor that no longer works so the system may not be building up pressure so the pressure switch does not cycle the fans.

Fan will not turn off

which fan? Interior fan, or radiator cooling fan? Is it the radiator cooling fan, or the fan controlled by the air-conditioning?

Run the vehicle, turn on and off the air-conditioning to identify which of the fans in the engine bay is the one triggered by the air-con and which is the primary cooling fan.
If the primary cooling fan is permanently engaged, then first try replacing it's relay as it may have fused closed.

Relay and fuse diagram for 2001 Saturn SL

In the engine compartment fuse junction box its the fourth relay, you cant miss it, The fan fuse is the big 30 amp fuse. The cooling fan should come on when the air conditioning switch is activated,Your problem you are dealing with is common on Saturn the cooling fan never comes on.And you have to use the air condition system just to turn the fan on.Heres a way to trouble shoot the fan if you cant find the relay for the fan or you found the relay theres is two big relays one is the cooling fan.The other is the air pump ,take the cover off the relay and expose the mechanism, get a non conductive tool a toothpick will work fine collapse the relay so it make contact with the key on engine off make the relay make contact the fan should come on ,if it doesnt and you see spark(little spark)as you close the relay this tell you the power works replace the fan..if the fan comes on swap the relay.

My saturn sc1 is overheating the air conditioning start blowing hot and the car starts to overheat

Sounds like a case of a bad radiator elec. cooling fan motor, fan should come on with a/c on, if it don't, check fuses, if fuse ok, check for voltage at cooling fan motor, if you do have voltage, replace elec. cooling fan motor.

Where is the air conditioner blower fan relay on 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee located?

The blower fan relay is located in the fuse box on the driver's side fender-well. A Jeep Cherokee uses an electric fan as an auxiliary fan for engine cooling and for cooling the air conditioning condenser when the air conditioning is in operation. A radiator temperature-sensing switch that activates the fan relay at 198 degrees F turns the fan on and controls its operation. The temperature drops when the vehicle is in motion and the switch turns the fan off. When the air conditioning system is in operation, the air conditioning relay supplies power to the fan relay via a fan diode downstream from the ignition switch. This diode activates the fan relay and keeps the fan operating as long as the air conditioning is on. Thanks. you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

While running the air conditioning, the air cools and then warms and eventually cools for a little bit again. I think the water pump is what's needed here? what is the big bolt behind the fan?

It is unlikely that the water pump is causing the trouble you describe. The large hex behind the fan is what you would turn to remove the fan clutch from the water pump shaft. This fan clutch is supposed to detect heated air coming through the AC condenser and radiator and engage the fan more positively with the water pump shaft when more air needs to me moved to cool the radiator and AC condenser. The fan clutch could be bad or the AC system may not be properly charged--either of these conditions could cause the problem you describe.

1987 Toyota Celica overheats when air conditioning is turned on

Hi

The first thing to check is that the engine cooling fan comes on when you turn on the air conditioning, then you should check the condition of the radiator fins. If they are clogged with debris (dead insects, leaves, etc...) then you will need to get a pressure washer onto it through the front grill and try to blast it clear.

When you switch on the aircon, it puts extra stress on the engine, which causes the fuel economy and engine power to drop, and as a result the engine will naturally run hotter, so it needs a bit of help to cool down in the form of the engine cooling fan.

Regards

Geordie
