My toyota camry is 2005 LE. It is failing smog test because the sensor showing engine failure. We use a sensor tester and my son it says PO500. What should be done and how much is the replacement part?

Hi,
to test the sensor correctly, you will need the electric value parameters within which the sensor operates. However, for expediency, it would be to your advantage to have someone plug in a handheld readout device to the car, and it will pinpoint the actual device which is problematic.

If, indeed the sensor you named is faulty a replacement will have to be fitted.

Regarding cost. You will have to contact various Auto parts dealers to gain a comparison in pricing of a replacement unit.

Good luck.

Temperture

If the wires are cut, they can be repaired. Skin back the insulation, match the coulors to each other, solder it, and tape it back up. I hope that I provided you with a good solution; the graciousness of a "FixYa" rating would be greatly appreciated.
