"officially" they are not removable
however the one "trick" of the trade is to heat the glass behind the "button" with a bic light
however, there is at least a good chance that you will break the glass if over heated

Yes it is glued on with a very strong silicone and u will break the glass when u remove it, they sell just the mirror element of the whole assembly.

The glass is actually clipped on to the mirror. All you have to do is apply even pressure and pull it free then you can get to the nuts holding on the chrome piece.
