I broke off fitting for heater hose going into my intake manifold and cant get it out what can i do ?

If you can get to the area drill it carefully then use an easy out to back out the bolt. Soak the bolt with penetrating oil first. Be real careful when drilling!

Monte Carlo heater core


I don't know if top or bottom, but the heater core inlet will be the hose coming from either the intake manifold or a fitting on a cylinder head. The outlet from the heater core goes to the front of the engine, it goes into the water pump. I think all GM engines are like this, and almost all engine designs likewise. On a 1992 3.8L, for example, the heater core inlet hose comes from the intake manifold on the passenger side. The heater core outlet goes into a fitting on the water pump (lower front of engine).

Heater hose


I'd probably remove intake manifold, then get the piece out, so you don't have to worry about junk getting into the engine.
If that is a pipe thread in the manifold, then it should be easy. You may have to dress up the threads. They have fittings that have a pipe thread on one end and a hose fitting on it, then use heater hose from one fitting to the next. In the olds days the didn't have that metal tubing, they just had heater hoses.
In the past, I have removed stuck fitting from aluminum head. I got it out but I tore up the threads, I don't remember how I fixed it, too many years ago.
Of course I can't see anything from here. Use your best judgement.

Heater hose between rear of intake manifold & heater core. Where it attaches to the intake manifold it appears to be some sort of slip connector...something like an air hose? How do you disconnect...


The plastic clip must be pushed together and pulled. These are very easy to break, Also fitting that goes into manifold will sometimes break off. Use care

My 1999 chevy tahoe is leaking antifreeze. I


it could but- check passenger side front where heater core line go into manifold right behind alternator the hose line is connected by a press clip into an alloy fitting this fitting gets eaten away by anti freeze and hose angle pulls back on fitting the part is $18 at dealer and is screwed into manifold use caution if ur r going to replace at very edge of aluminum manifold---and check ur water pump bolts the 2 longer ones should have a lock sealant on them they bolt in thru a water jacket

Heater hose connecter pulls out of intake manifold


Try cleaning the tube and manifold where they connect (use small wire brush or?). I would try using JB Weld @ the fitting before i would even consider a new intake. Water pressure in the cooling system shouldn't be much over 15-18 lbs. so doing this quick fix should solve the problem.

the chev are fames for intake manifold seeping. it will have to be replaced soon good luck

93 lincoln town car coolant leak from rear of motor


Instead of removing the intake manifold and the the leaky manifold coolant hose, we simple place a 1" dia hose about 3" long with a **** down it so it can fit around the leaky coolant hose with two hose clamps and an agressive amount of "right stuff" silicone sealant and let stand for 24hrs which should fix the problem
