Question about 2002 Mazda Millenia

3 Answers

Mazda Millenia 2001 S. Engine has been misfiring since 4 months now. Changed the air filter, air filter hose (which was broken), fuel filter and got fuel injectors cleaned twice. Runs fine after getting the fuel injectors cleaned for a day or two and then the same problem back again. Check engine light has been On & OFF since then but since last 12 days it has been ON consistently and starts flashing sometimes. Got codes checked 4 months ago and it said cyl 6 misfire and now it says cyl 3 misfire.

Where should I start from, should I have to replace plugs first or injectors or O2 sensors as replacing them all is not worth it considering the age of the car.

The injectors are weak/faulty.All the injectors needs to be replaced. This will solve the problem. The misfire is caused by faulty injectors. front plugs (cylinders 2,4,6) and rear plugs (1,3,5) .Replace all the cylinders. This cylinders gets covered by carbon layer and this causes the injectors to stop working. This carbon gets build up on the injectors due to faulty o2 sensor. So check if there is carbon build up on injectors replace all o2 sensor then check. If still the misfiring is there then replace all the injector cylinders this will clear the problem.
Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation

have spark plugs checked and the boots and coils. This will most likely repair the problem if you replace these things

I have a 2001 Pontiac Montana minivan that is misfiring stalling and cutting out. I put in fuel additive thinking it might be the injectors and premium gasoline . Could this be a bad fuel filter?

It could be a timing issue (misfire) but it absolutely could also be either air or fuel filter. If it's starving for fuel, it's the fuel filter. If it's starving for air (too rich), it would also stall out and that could be the air filter. Basically, you need 4 things to make an engine work: compression, air, fuel, and spark.

Sounds like the pintle in the #2injector is not properly seated allowing fuel to drip into that cylinder when the engine is off .

This realy sounds like a fuel problem filter or the pump you are getting to many codes at once and all of these sensor can,t be going bad at the same time Looking at the random misfire and the fuel trim issues map and air charge all at the same time is unlikely The olny other thing you may wan,t to check is the crankshaft pisition sensor but aren,t getting that code so im thinking fuel delevery good luck

How do you replace a 2001 Mazda 626 Fuel Filter

Fuel Filter On all models except the Millenia, the fuel filter is attached to a bracket located in the left rear of the engine compartment, next to or beneath the brake master cylinder fluid reservoir. On the Millenia, the fuel filter is located beneath an access cover in the trunk. Access to the cover is achieved by removing the trunk mat to expose the cover.

  2. Properly relieve the fuel system pressure.

I cannot locate the fuel filter on a Mazda xedos 9 miller cycle engine - where is the fuel filter on a Mazda Xedos 9 Miller cycle engine

Mazda fuel filters are usually found underneath the back seat. At least that's where mine was. I have a Millenia. Good thing back seats are easy to remove.

Mazda Protege 2001.. when i start the engine. it makes a single popping burst. and when i speed up, the noise continues and fades down after a while.. can anyone suggest the problem please..

sounds like a misfire. first check it intake hose from the air filter box to the throttle body. check it for cracks. remove it if you have to. air entering the intake behind the MAF sensor causes improper air/fuel mixture which could cause your misfire.

if all is well it could be in need of a tune up plugs/wires (don't use aftermarket wires get mazda ones) coils could also be weak.
start from plugs to wires to coils, after checking the intake hose.
