Yes, this is going to most likely be the water pump. The high pitch squeak you hear is the primary symptom of a water pump. That along with where it is leaking says water pump as well.

95 Chevy caprice leaking antifreeze from what looks like a pipe under the engine.. But the serpentine belt is wet & spraying antifreeze, so wherever it's leaking from, it's hitting the serpentine belt

Your water pump has a small hole on the top and the bottom of the housing right behind the belt pulley. This is known as a weep hole and is there to let you know when the front seal has gone out of the pump and it is in need of changing. You really want to get this taken care of because on your engine the ignition system is ran off of the crank pulley and is known as "Opti-Spark" when the system gets antifreeze in it it usually goes bad. The Opti-Spark distributor sits right underneath the water pump, so a leaking water pump soon will take out your distributor which is another added expense.

How do you take the water pump on a 2001 chevy impala off.

The first thing you do is disconnect one of the battery cables, remove the over flow canister , make sure you leave the hose on, there will be enough room to lay it out of the way, you will need a 10 mil socket or wrench. you will have to remove the serpentine belt before you began., you will need a half inch drive ratchet tool to take off the belt tension, it is located right around the idler pulley ( note loosen the four bolts from the water pump pulley before you remove the the serpentine belt, then remove the bolts on the water pump, you will have to use a ten mil socket for this) also be careful not to lose the bolts, sometimes they will fall down on the ground if your lucky & sometime it drop some where on the frame. ( hard to find.). Once you get the pump off, make sure you a putty knife to scrape off the old gasket on the engine and make sure you glue the gasket to the water pump and let the glue set up before you install the new pump.Make sure you drain the antifreeze first. when you a finished pour antifreeze in radiator be careful not to overflow.Next start the car and let it idle, when the right temp.is obtained pour some more antifreeze in until the radiator is full, replace the cap and check for leaks, if no leaks then drive the car for about 15 min., then recheck for leaks.

Why do i have antifreeze leaking out from d my pullies?

You probably have a water pump that is leaking. There is what they call a weep hole at the bottom of the pump housing and this is where the coolant would leak out on to the front of the crank pulley which would possibly get in the belt pulley grove of the crank pulley and spread it around when the engine is running. You could have a leaking thermostat gasket or upper radiator hose which connects to the motor that is leaking. There is no antifreeze which circulates in your pulleys nor are they filled with antifreeze.

Antifreeze leak

Sounds like it might be a leaking water pump behind the pulley.

My 1996 oldsmobile acheiva is leaking antifreeze but it doesn't seem to be a leak in the radiator. Could my water pump need replacement?

Sounds like the radiator is OK...if you cannot see any visible leaks...if you have inspected upper and lower radiator hoses and connections...it could be the water pump...however you should be able to see some antifreeze around the water pump pulley...changing the water pump on your Oldsmobile is not a major job...you do not have to remove any motor mounts to do this...only if your serpentine belt is worn and needs replacement...your Olds will require the removal of the upper motor mount in order to change the serpentine belt...sounds like you are on the right track...:)

I had a slow antifreeze leak. Today it sounded like a bearing growling. Then after a bit it stopped and it was hard to move the wheel. I stopped popped the hood and the serpentine belt is gone. I figure...

the belt is probally around 10 bucks and the pump can very in price depending on if you get the part ordered and repaired at a shop or if you do it yourself im just gunna say roughly around 40 bucks for the pump again varing on where you purchase it

Leaking engine coolant from bottom of engine front passenger side

Probably a water pump seal unfortunately. Pressurize the system, with the engine off, use a mirror to look under the water pump pulley to see if any fluid is dripping from the water pump seal weep hole.
If it is, change the water pump.
Good luck, let me know.

Leaking waterpump?

I dont know for sure but i would find out what that pulley is, because if its the water pump i bet that its dripping out of that and running down the fire wall and just dripping off this bolt, but ive never heard of a pulley near a fire wall, and what is this bolt there for, what does it go to? can you screw it in any more?
