How many miles on the engine? Replace the oil w/ a 75/25 blend of Motor oil and Lucas Oil Stabilizer. This may help some but I'm afraid the engine needs an inframe overhaul.

Have a 1999 F350 with the 5.4 Triton. While driving lost oil pressure. Then it was fluxuating. Now it acts like it's locked up. Any suggestions?

Hello Dreama Rhodes,

Those symptoms would lead to a SERIOUS OIL leak conclusion.

Hopefully the LOCK-UP is your F350... self defense shut down
rather than an actual seizure...

You need ti be checking oil levels like your engine's life depends on it... a lost drain plug, broken oil line, damaged or loose FILTER...

ALL
ought to be pretty obvious

Drive no where until you are sure your
ENGINE WILL SURVIVE.

I have a Ford F350 Lariat Super Duty Diesel with the 6.0 engine. wha would cause the oil pressure to drop complete when I come to a stop but run normal when going down the road?

Your oil is under pressure as it is circulated through the engine, and at low RPM there is less pressure pumping the oil around. With the broken dipstick, I presume there is an oil-pressure leak and at normal operating speed there is enough capacity to maintain proper pressure, but the leak is more than the engine can overcome at low speed. I would suggest replacing the broken dipstick.

My comany has a 1994 Ford f350 diesel truck. The truck runs great, starts right up everytime, but as soon as you take your foot off the accelerator the oil pressure drops, as soon as you press the acc

Have the oil pressure checked with a special test tool, you may have a defective oil pressure sending unit. If the pressure is low then you have other more serious problems and the truck should not be driven until the oil pressure issue is resolved, low pressure will destroy the engine if left unrepaired.

The oil pressure gauge in my 2002 Duramax Diesel engine PU increases during acceleration and returns to normal following acceleration. Why would this happen?

That is normal. As you accelerate and rpm's increase the oil pump rpm increases. I think the oil pump runs 1 to 1 or 2 to 1 with the crankshaft rpm. Check the oil and inspect for any visual leaks if the gauge does not operate like that consistently. If it is intermittent or it just started acting that way, the sender my be bad. Other than that any Chevy Dealer will say that is normal.

94 f350 7.3l turbo diesel looses oil pressure as rpm increase

Before you spend money on a new gauge. Get an oil pressure testing gauge for $20 , remove the oil pressure sending unit and test the oil pressure. If oil pressure at idle and 3000 rpm's is a-ok via spec's ( big money repair items) then its either the gauge a clogged or defective sending unit or the circuitry. (little money repair items)
You can also have this done at a repair shop.
